A nice pair of boots can complement almost any outfit, but if you have curvy calves, it can be hard to find boots that fit just right.If you have a pair of boots that fit your feet well but are snug in the calves, you may be able to stretch them out.
Step 1: If it is strong enough for stretching, look at it.
If you use too much pressure with the boot stretcher, you may damage your zipper by making it shoddily constructed.
Step 2: There is a calf stretcher in the boot.
Make sure the stretcher you use is designed for the calf of the boot and not the toes or instep.A calf stretcher is tall and thin.
Step 3: If you want to stretch the boot, spray it with stretching spray.
It is not necessary to use a stretching spray to achieve better results.
Step 4: To widen the boot stretcher, twist the handle or wheel.
Depending on the style of boot stretcher, there may be a lever or small wheel in the center.The stretcher should fit in the calf of the boot.
Step 5: The stretcher needs to be left in for at least 2 hours.
You want to leave the stretcher in for as long as possible to get the best results.If you sprayed your boots with stretching spray, you should leave the stretcher in until the spray dries.
Step 6: If they almost fit, zip up the boots and wear them.
By wearing the boots with zip up as far as they will go, you can stretch the fabric around the boot.After 15 minutes, see if you can get the zip up a little higher.If you only need an extra room, this is perfect.
Step 7: If you want to widen your zip, purchase a zip enhancer.
A V-shape which gives your calf more room is created by products on the market which are specifically designed to attach to your existing zip.
Step 8: To relax the fabric, spray the boot with stretching spray.
The material of the boot can be loosened with a stretching spray.Put on a pair of thick socks and spray the boot.Leave them on for about 5 minutes and zip them up as far as you can.If necessary, repeat the process.
Step 9: Wear the boots in the water for a custom fit.
It is easy to get your leather boots to conform to your calves if you wear them while they are wet.Make sure the boots are submerged in the water so they don't get water marks.
Step 10: Use a blowdryer to stretch the shoes.
Put on a pair of thick socks to protect your feet, then put on your boots and zip them up.If you want to avoid damaging the shoes, blast them with your hairdryer for about 30 seconds.The heat will allow the boots to stretch around your calf.Leave the shoes on until they cool so they don't shrink back to their original size.Follow up with a leather conditioning spray if your boots are made of leather.Do not use this method on patent leather.
Step 11: Put a bag of water in your boots and put them in the freezer.
If you fill a plastic bag halfway with water and place it in the calf of your boot, you can stretch out your boots.Remove the bag from the ice for at least 20 minutes.
Step 12: You can get a panel inserted in your boots at a cobbler.
A panel can be inserted into the boot to widen the calf.You might have to visit the shoe repair shop more than once.If you want to save money, you can have the cobbler remove the zip up and then put it back.
