Anyone over the age of 11 can register for the Hunter-Trapper Education course.

There is an optional certification for some students in the Hunter-Trapper Education class calendar.

PennsylvaniaSuccessful Furtaking & Cable Restraint certification is optional for some students.

All first-time hunters and trappers must successfully complete Hunter-Trapper Education before they can buy a Pennsylvania hunting or trapping license.A training certificate is given when you pass a test at the end of the course.To enroll in a class, you must be at least 11 years old.Parents are encouraged to attend with their children.The training has been designed to produce safe, responsible, knowledgeable and involved participants.The results of this program are amazing.Since 1959 hunting-related shooting incidents have gone down.Hunting is safe thanks to hunter education.

Be a better bowhunter!Improve your skills and increase your chances of success with this voluntary training.The International Bowhunter Education Program is part of the Successful Bowhunting program.After passing a written test at the end of the course, a training certificate is presented.The Basic Hunter-Trapper Education training is not replaced by this course.Before buying a general hunting license, first-time hunters must successfully complete Basic Hunter-Trapper Education.

You can complete your training online.Only students 16 years of age and older can use this option.The course can be taken on any device.Print your temporary Bowhunter hunter education certificate and head to the field after completing the Pennsylvania online course.You can sign up at Bowhunter-Ed Pennsylvania.

Be a better trapper!The program is based on the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies standards for trapper training and their best management practices.After passing a written test at the end of the course, a training certificate is presented.Fox and coyotes can be legally taken in Pennsylvania with the help of the training certificate.

This course doesn't replace the Basic Hunter-Trapper Education training for people who want to hunt furbearers.This training will allow you to purchase a license to trap furbearers.

1.You can complete your training in a classroom.The Successful Furtaking course takes approximately eight hours and includes training on all aspects of trapping as well as certification for the use of cable restraint devices.Three hours is how long the stand-alone Cable-Restraint Certification course is.If there are no classes listed in your area, you can contact the region office of the Game Commission.Only 36 students can enroll in a class.There isn't a minimum age for this training.

There are two components to the Successful Furtaking course.Students can request a student manual to review before class.The independent study component takes about six to eight hours to complete, then the student attends a 1-day, 6-hour classroom session.

The Game Commission is looking for knowledgeable and experienced people to teach hunter education.All teaching aids and materials are provided for you to use as a volunteer hunter education instructor.The courses are in a classroom format and a skills station format.

Hunter education courses have been conducted in Pennsylvania.Over five decades of training, the results have been exceptional.Statistics show hunting deaths and injuries have declined by more than 80 percent with nearly 2 million students certified to date.Hunter education is working well.
