I am trying to locate a power steering fluid check on a 2000 Chevrolet impala.
You can feel the cap on the passenger side if you reach down behind the engine. You can take it off with one turn.It is possible, but it is a tight fit.Adding fluid requires a funnel with a long stem.Add your fluid when the funnel is in.Remove the cap and start the car.To make sure you aren't spraying fluid all over everything, shine a light near the pump. You need a new pump.
I worked on the same problem for a couple of hours last night.I was able to check the level by taking the passenger tire off the car.I was able to check the level from below the car.Good luck adding to it if needed. This is a bad design.
You can find it on the passenger side if you go down a foot or two.It isn't easy to access it from above.
The design is horrible and I had to remove the cross bar to get at it.
