Step 1: You can get a US or Canadian passport as a citizen.
CBS requires applicants for Survivor to meet two requirements.To be a citizen of either the United States or Canada, you must have a valid US or Canadian passport.If you don't already have a passport, apply before you apply.A passport is required because the show is filmed around the world.You will not be able to film the show if you don't have a passport.
Step 2: In some US states, you should be over 18 years of age.
You have to be at least 18 years old to apply for most states and provinces.You can apply on your 18th birthday.Nebraska and Alabama residents must be at least 19 years old.Residents of Mississippi and the District of Columbia must be at least 21 years old.
Step 3: Good physical and mental shape is what you should be.
If you proceed past the first, you will be asked to complete medical history checks and undergo physical and psychological fitness exams.There are no major medical issues that could affect your performance.
Step 4: A general sketch is what you should write for your video.
Your personality and features should be showcased in a Survivor application video that is no longer than 3 minutes.If you want your video to take any format, you have to show off your life story and experiences.Successful videos are often filmed in a variety of scenic locations, with narration over videos and images that show off your past, your life experiences, and your day-to-day life.
Step 5: Good stories about yourself.
It is better to use specific examples than to include facts about yourself.The video should have a structure that is grounded in the story you want to tell about yourself.Bring up your curiosities.Most people have never been to an area of the country where you are from.If you work a difficult job, highlight the skills you have learned.Go to the show.The casting crew wants to know about your personality and knowledge of the show.
Step 6: Don't use your phone to film your video, use a camera.
It is better to rent or borrow a nice camera that will film you in the way only real cameras can, even though most smartphones have high quality cameras.If you must use your phone, keep it horizontal or landscape.The casting team watches videos on a TV screen to make sure your video is large enough to fit on the screen.
Step 7: There is a quiet, well-lit space where you can film your video.
You can film outdoors or indoors, but always choose a quiet spot away from busy areas.The lighting should be looking at you.If the sun is behind you, move so that you can see your face.It is possible to create an image that is in line with the premise of Survivor by filming outdoors.Unless you have a good reason to film at night, shoot outdoors during the day.Natural sunlight will be more flattering than artificial ones.It can be hard to hear your voice.If it is not windy, shoot outdoors.
Step 8: A good delivery is what you should give.
Speak in a clear voice and it will be heard in the video.You should use a voice that is audible to everyone in the room.It's better to speak in a tone that grabs attention rather than one that conveys an over-eager attitude.Don't read from a script.If you write exactly what you plan to say, memorize the general structure of it.You can experiment with several different ideas you plan to introduce.It is important that your video has a natural flow.
Step 9: There is an option to edit.
There are many editing suites to choose from.Older Windows computers have a simple editing tool in the Photos application, which is pre-installed on Apple computers.Lightworks, a free download, is one of the third party software available, as is Adobe Premiere, which is a more expensive and complicated option.You will need to learn how to import your footage and cut or trim unneeded footage.You are not being judged on your editing skills.The video can be rough if it looks clean and your personality shines through.
Step 10: You can add pictures and videos.
You will want to include images or videos that depict what you spoke about on camera, or ones you wrote down in your outline and plan to record a voice-over for.As you cut out the video and replace it with a new photo or clip, be sure to keep the audio layer in place.Audio and visual layers are included in most editing tools.
Step 11: Keep the pace up by using a soundtrack under your narration.
Adding a soundtrack with some of your favorite music that fits the image of yourself you are presenting can help your video feel more exciting.Listening to someone talk for 3 minutes can be tiring, but with the right music you can liven up the casting crew's experience.Some songs can be used to mark transitions.A new song can make a change easier to understand.
Step 12: If you want to film a video, go to a local casting call.
In the months preceding a new season, CBS will host open casting calls in select US and Canadian cities.You don't need to film a tape on your own if you attend one of these.It's important to bring your photo I.D.To an open call.An open call is a great opportunity for someone without the time or resources to make a video.You can attend an open call and submit a video to raise your chances.You can check for open calls at the website.
Step 13: The website has an application for Survivor.
The application can be found at https://www.cbssurvivorcasting.com/apply.There is an online application for the show.You should be prepared to fill out the entire application at once, as well as uploading a recent photo of yourself in a standard file format.The application must be completed in one sitting.
Step 14: Your contact information will be entered.
Your name, email, phone number, and address are included.This information will allow CBS to reach out to you if you are accepted, as well as to narrow down candidates by location.
Step 15: Tell us about your appearance.
You will be asked to provide your date of birth and gender, as well as your height, weight, hair color, and ethnicity.CBS will use this information to sort the applications and choose applicants in a certain demographic or appearance range to fill slots for each season.

A high quality portrait of you is what the picture should be.Your face should be visible in the photo.The file must be less than 5MB and be in one of the following formats.Your picture should match the description you gave in the application.
Step 20: Send us your video.
The file must be less than 50MB and be in one of the following formats.If there are any problems with the file, watch the video one more time.The file should include your full name and the phrase "survivor application video".
Step 21: Wait for a response from the other party.
If you don't hear back by the end of September, you're most likely not selected, because only those who CBS wishes to move forward are accepted as semi-finalists.
Step 22: If your application wasn't accepted, submit a new application or attend a casting call again.
The good news is that you can apply as many times as you want, even if you have to create a new video.You have another chance if you were a finalist in the casting process.
