If your freezer is left open overnight, what should you do?

When you go downstairs to do a little laundry, you see the freezer is still open. What do you do?It can be a day wrecker, and I have experienced it now.

It is not me who left the freezer open in my house.People don't want to be responsible for this grocery budget ruiner. We are too busy trying to save as much as possible so we don't bother asking.

I don't think anyone would leave it open on purpose. It is always an accident. Why make it worse when the guilty party already feels bad?

There are a few things I can do to get you through this experience. Before you panic, throw everything out, and call it a total loss, grab a cup of coffee and read this post.

If the freezer isn't working, you will have to work with a lot more defrosted goods. You will need a cooler to keep the food items cool.

For very little money, you can add a Freezer Monitor. It keeps a record of your freezer's temperature and can alert you to any issues you may be having.

The product is on the floor under the freezer door. You are going to hear it if the metal on the bottom gets wet.You need to be in your house for it to work.

I hope you don't have to go through it if your freezer is left open overnight. If you have room for an upright freezer in your home, you will probably experience this problem at some point or another. You can make the most of your freezer contents if you work through this list.

Would you share this post if you liked it and thought it helped you get through a terrible freezer opening?I would appreciate it!

I have a rule.Memorial Day is when I stock up on sales.I don't buy what I cannot eat in 2 weeks until after the hurricanes, so I eat through the freezer.I live in Virginia on the East coast.

I used my judgement. They can be refrozen if they are soft.Meat cannot be refrozen.I will add that, keep your expensive items in the freezer.

I left the freezer open when I went to work.It was open for 8 hours.Jimmy Dean sandwiches, Hot Pockets, and frozen dinners were some of the things it had. They had no frost on the outside when I found them, but the ice cream I had in the freezer from another day had frost.Do you think most of the food in my fridge is safe to eat?I didn't have any leftovers or fresh meat or anything like that and it seems to have stayed at a fairly cool temperature and is running fine now.

The freezer door was open and there was water on the floor. Is it possible to save meat pies, cookie dough, fruit, and ice cream when the boxes are wet?
