Is it okay to run a lawn mower on gas?
The oil gas mix was put in the 4-stroke lawnmower by my father-in-law.Is this going to cause a problem?Is it a good idea to get the gas out?Will I be able to fully empty the tank?
It will keep the skeeters at bay but will have no long term effects.An inexpensive hand siphon can be found at an auto parts store.
You don't need to do anything.The engine won't smoke with a 2-cycle mix.The 4-cycle is more efficient.I wouldn't use it all the time because of the possibility of carbon build-up, but one tank will hurt.I use oil in my fuel mix because it's a light solvent oil.
Don't worry about it.If the tank gets 1/2 down, refill it with fresh gas.
One winter, a neighbor used his snow-blower.His daughter brought out a can full of gas and started it up after he left.Not long after that, it went "BLOOIE"!Yes, used lawn mower gas, not snow-blower oil/gas mix.
Like everyone else.The mower is in good shape.I burn my two cycle gas in the lawnmower at the end of the season to get rid of it.I put regular gas in it.Never had a problem.Keep an eye on your spark plug.
