Our AT&T Uverse wireless router is located on the first floor of a brick and plaster house. We have poor internet in our basement.I bought the powerline adapter to overcome the issue.
We don't have any three-prong outlets on the floor, so I am using cheat plugs.I am getting a good ground after testing the outlets with the cheaters on.Will I have issues if I plug my powerline into a cheater plug?I've read that using power strips/surge protectors can cause adverse signal effects, but I haven't found any proof of that.
Basic electronic components that can cause noise or other interference to the powerline are included in power strips and surge protectors.
The "AV1000" standard is used by the adapters you chose. The newer HomePlugs only use two wires for communication.HomePlug makes use of the grounding conductor for better reliability and faster speeds.
You should be fine.I haven't used any of the newer ones, but the older ones that I used never delivered the speed they promised, so keep that in mind. The two conductor solution shouldn't be a problem if you buy the books.
