As far as accuracy goes? IMO, it is as accurate as any translation from Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek to Latin, German and/or Old English is going to get. Unless, you make an involved study of the original languages in which the OT and New Testament was written, it is impossible to know exactly how “accurate” they are.

The Amplified Bible now includes more amplification in the Old Testament and refined amplification in the New Testament. Additionally, the Bible text has been improved to read smoothly with or without amplifications, so the text may be read clearly either way.

Is the Amplified Bible a word for word translation?
And it is not fair to translate a word in Scripture with one single term when the original term is expressing more than a single meaning. The Amplified Bible is unlike any other translation. The reason it is called “Amplified” is because of the fact that many words are pregnant with many shades of meaning.
What's wrong with the Amplified Bible?
The Amplified Bible has been viewed as being guilty of "illegitimate totality transfer" by giving multiple potential meanings of a word in a particular passage. Readers may incorrectly conclude that multiple meanings of a word may apply regardless of the one which context would suggest.
Is the Amplified Bible a paraphrase?
So the short answer to your question is “yes.” The Amplified Bible is unlike any other translation. The reason it is called “Amplified” is because of the fact that many words are pregnant with many shades of meaning. Words not only denote, they also connote.
What is Amplified Bible Classic Edition?
The Amplified Bible (AMP) is an English language translation of the Bible produced jointly by Zondervan and The Lockman Foundation. The first edition was published in 1965. It is largely a revision of the American Standard Version of 1901, with reference made to various texts in the original languages.
Which version of the Bible is closest to the original text?
The Alpha & Omega Bible is the closest to the original translation and better to understand than any other Bible there is.
Is the amplified classic Bible accurate?
The Amplified Bible, when it includes all possible meanings of a word, distorts the meaning by suggesting many meanings that are very unlikely if not erroneous. As someone who knows Greek and Hebrew, I have to say that the Amplified Bible is not fairly accurate.
