Aromatherapy can help people with stress and tension.Because they're easy to use and provide soft ambient lighting, scented candles are an ideal tool for practicing the practice of aromatherapy. If you can't find the right scent, you may want to make your own.You don't need much more than wax, wicks, and essential oils to make a custom scented candle that will help you relax after a long day of work.
Step 1: The wax is measured out.
The amount of wax you need depends on how many candles you want to make. You will need 6 cups of wax flakes for four candles. You can use any type of wax you want for the candles, but soy wax is more fragrant than other waxes.
Step 2: The wax should be placed in a pot on the stove.
Take the wax and place it in a pot on the stove.Allow the wax to melt completely, and then turn the burner to medium-low, which will take 3 to 5 minutes. If the wax starts to melt, watch the pot closely. While the wax is heating to break up clumps, be sure to stir it with a wooden spoon or chop stick.Turn the heat up to medium if it takes longer than 5 minutes for the wax to melt.
Step 3: Allow the wax to cool.
Remove the pan from the burner after the wax has melted completely.Allow the wax to cool for 2 to 3 minutes because it will be too hot to smell right away.If you transfer the wax from the pan to a container, it will cool quicker.
Step 4: Attach the wicks to the jar.
It is a good idea to get the wicks in the jars while you wait for the wax to cool.Drop a small amount of glue from a hot glue gun into the center of the jar.The hot wax should be poured into the jar before the glue is set.If you don't have a hot glue gun, you can drop a small amount of melted wax into the jar and allow it to set for a while. When you pour hot wax in, it may melt again, which is why it isn't as secure as hot glue.
Step 5: The wicks should be kept in place with a pen or chopstick.
When you pour the hot wax into the container, the length of the wicks may fall into it.To keep that from happening, tape the end of the candle to a piece of furniture.Rest the pen or chopstick on the top of the jar when the wick is taped to it.
Step 6: Take the essential oil of your choice and put it in the wax.
Once the wax has cooled for a couple of minutes, it is time to add essential oil to it.80 to 100 drops is a good number to start with if you want your candles to be strong.Ensure that the oil is well combined by pouring it into the wax well.If you want candles that are fragrant, you should add more than 100 drops.Try to see what the right amount is.If you mix more than one type of essential oil, you can create a custom scent for your candles. You can buy fragrance oils that are specifically designed for candles.Specialty fragrances include Christmas Cookie or Fresh Cut Grass.
Step 7: The jars have wax in them.
When pouring hot wax into a jar, it can splash on the sides. If you want to avoid a mess, place a small funnel in a jar.The jars should be filled the same way.Depending on the size of the jars and how much you fill them, you may have some wax left over.Wait for it to solidify and then remove it from the pot or bowl.Do not pour hot wax down the sink.
Step 8: Allow the candles to solidify while you are at it.
Once the jars are filled with wax, you have to wait for the wax to cool before you can light the candles. The wax will solidify as it cools. When the wax becomes fully opaque, the candles are finished cooling.
Step 9: Enjoy the candles by trimming the wicks.
When the candles are completely cool, you can trim the chop stick or pen with a pair of scissors. It is usually sufficient to have a 12 inch (1.27- cm) wick. You can light the candle and enjoy the scent. These homemade candles are ideal for handmade gifts. For a lovely, personalized present, you can change the scent for each recipient.
