It is possible to remove unnecessary audio with Audacity.

You will learn how to remove audio from a track.Sections of tracks, background noise, and lyrics are a few types of audio that you might want to remove.It is not possible to remove all vocals with the rudimentary tool.

Step 1: It's possible to open a recording.

Step 2: Click the file.

You can find it in either the top left or top right side of the window.

Step 3: Click on the button.

This can be found in the drop-down menu.A new window will open.

Step 4: Select a track.

Click on the track you want to modify.

Step 6: There is a section you want to select.

You can find a section that you want to remove by clicking and dragging your mouse across it.

Step 7: Press remove.

The section will be removed immediately.Click and then click in the drop-down menu.

Step 8: The track has a background noise section.

If you can, drag your mouse across a section of the track that has no background noise.Pick the section where the background noise is the most noticeable if there isn't enough free track to do this.

Step 9: Click on the effect you want.

This tab can be found at the top of the window or on the screen.Doing so leads to a drop-down menu.

Step 10: Click for noise reduction.

It's in the middle of the menu.

Step 11: You can get a noise profile by clicking.

There is a button at the top of the window.What is background noise and what isn't will be determined by this.

Step 12: Pick the section that you want to clean.

If you're working with a song, you can click the track and then press Command+A to select the whole track.

Step 13: Click on the effect and repeat noise reduction.

It is at the top of the menu.The noise reduction suggestion will be applied to the track.

Step 14: If needed, reduce the noise again.

Continue the noise removal process if there is still a noticeable amount of background noise.You may have to do this many times.If you click on the drop-down menu, you can raise the amount of background noise removed.

Step 15: You can select the entire track.

Click the audio track, then press either Command+A or the keyboard.

Step 16: Click on it.

There is a tab at the top of the window or screen.

Step 17: If you scroll all the way down, you can select vocal removal.

There is a downward-facing arrow at the bottom of the drop-down menu.Clicking on it will prompt a pop-out menu.

Step 18: Click a vocal removal tool.

You can click a link in the pop-out menu.This will open the window.

Step 19: Click OK if you don't mind.

The vocals will be removed from the track.This isn't 100 percent reliable, but you will notice a difference in the result.It is possible to increase the percentage of vocals removed multiple times, though doing so may harm the recording's fidelity.
