It is recommended that you apply Silicone Sealant.
Many do-it-yourself projects use Silicone sealant.Silicone sealant is your best friend if you need to seal a bathtub.Silicone caulk is similar to caulk, but it is usually clear or opaque instead of white, and looks more like a gel.It is a great choice for your household needs because it is not sensitive to temperature and can handle all kinds of chemicals.
Step 1: Pull the pressure valve if you press down on the gun's release tab.
The metal plunger is usually underneath the release tab. This will allow you to load the tube.
Step 2: The tube of silicone should be inserted into the gun.
Push it up into the gun after it is inserted at an angle. The release tab and pressure tab should hold the silicone tube's nozzle out of the opposite end.
Step 3: The size of your tube is what thetrigger should be adjusted for.
If you want to do this, squeeze the Trigger slowly and gently until the mechanism touches the Silicone tube. You will be able to put the tube in place.
Step 4: You want to seal the surface.
Make sure the surface is free of dust, dirt, or particles before you apply silicone sealant.A weaker seal can be caused by any bits of matter.Prepare your surface by soaking a sponge in soapy water.Use your sponge again to clean the area.Use a towel to dry off the area.Water can cause problems if it's not removed completely.
Step 5: There is a hole in the tube.
As close to the tip as possible, cut the tube at a 45 degree angle. It will be easier for you to control the flow of sealant if the hole is small. You can cut the tube with scissors or a knife.
Step 6: There is a piece of scrap material.
If you don't like the flow of the sealant, you can take a little bit more off the tube. When the sealant is flowing at the desired pace, gradually cut small bits off.
Step 7: The sealant should be applied to your surface.
Thetrigger should be squeezed evenly and steadily.Slowly drag the tube nozzle along the seam of your project. The sealant should be spread evenly.Take a container of water with you.To spread the sealant evenly, use your finger. As you work, keep getting your finger wet.You can spread the sealant by pressing a piece of masking tape onto the bead line.Remove the tape before it gets tacky. This will give you a straight line where you want it to go.
Step 8: Allow it to dry.
The seal is not ready if it feels dry to the touch within 30 minutes to an hour.Wait at least 24 hours for the seal to dry.It will still need time to cure even if you use a fan or blow dryer on low heat. You can buy a quick-curing caulk. These don't cost more than other types of caulk, and they will be water ready in about 30 minutes.
Step 9: Use a window scraper.
Make sure your surface is free of dirt and debris. The window scraper can be used to pull away bits of previous caulk or sealant.
Step 10: Dust and debris should be brushed away.
A cleaning brush and some paper towels can be used.Make sure your surface is dry.Extra paper towels can be used.
Step 11: The can has a tip.
You can use a window scraper to do this.Remove the tip from the board at a 45 degree angle. You can always cut more off if the hole isn't big enough.
Step 12: The tip of the sealant should be dragged along the seam.
It is okay if there is too much initial. You can tidy it up and wipe it off later.
Step 13: Let it dry.
It is best to give it 24 hours to fully set.
