You can learn how to recognize and make the most of Facebook's basic interface on both phones.The home page, profile page and Messenger app are included.
Step 1: You can open the app.
Before you continue, make sure you download Facebook from the App Store.If you aren't already on Facebook, you will need to log in with your credentials.
Step 2: You can review your news feed.
All of the posts from your friends and liked pages appear in your News Feed when you open Facebook.From the middle of your screen, you can scroll through your News Feed.The most recent posts appear at the top of the News Feed.If you tap the white box with "What's on your mind?" you can post a status at the top of your News Feed.A message is written in it.
Step 3: The search bar can be used to find friends.
There is a bar at the top of the screen.Simply tap it once and begin typing.Below the search bar field, Facebook will place suggestions.
Step 4: The Status buttons are familiar to you.
You can quickly post a new Status with the Status buttons.On some versions of the Facebook app, you'll see this option, which is located directly beneath the search bar.You can launch a real-time video stream by tapping it.You can type a message for all of your friends to see if you tap this option.Pictures, videos, and location tags can be added to your status."Status" is replaced by the "Live" option.You can choose to post a photo from your camera roll or from a Facebook album.You can choose to post your current location.Sometimes a benefit will come with "checking in" with a local business.
Step 5: The friends icon is in the top right corner of the screen.
It looks like a person's silhouette.The window will have a list of your friends.The friends list will let you know who your friends are online.You can close the list when you're done reviewing it.
Step 6: The News Feed buttons should be reviewed.
You can find them at the bottom of your screen.While Facebook usually keeps its interface consistent, you may notice that you have an additional option to open and refresh your News Feed.You will always have this option.View pending friend requests from other people.In this menu, you can add friends from the "Suggested Friends" section.The Messenger app is opened.In-app messaging is not supported by the Facebook app.Notifications for account activity include comments and likes from friends.You will always have this option.You can see videos from pages you like and people you follow.There are items for sale in your area.You can post an item for sale by following the instructions and tapping the Status box at the top of the screen.You can open a menu with access to settings, pages and your profile.You will always have this option.
Step 7: You can find More in the bottom right corner of your screen.
Step 8: You can choose your name.
It should be at the top of the page.If you do that, you will be taken to your profile page, where you can learn more about Facebook navigation.
Step 9: You can open the Facebook app.

Step 15: You can tap more.
It's on the right side of the screen.
Step 16: You can choose your name.
It should be at the top of the page.You will be taken to your profile page if you do that.
Step 17: Take a moment to review your timelines.
Your Facebook profile page has your profile picture, information, and everything you've ever posted from it.To view the options associated with your cover or profile photo, tap it.Changing your profile or cover photo can be one of the options.The person-shaped icon in the top right corner of the screen is where you can initiate a quick-edit of your profile.You can return to the News Feed by using the backward-facing arrow.You still have access to the News Feed buttons at the bottom of your screen.
Step 18: You should be familiar with the quick-access tool.
The following actions are included in the list of options below your profile picture.Public information, such as places you've worked or a relationship status, can be added or removed from your profile.You can see a list of recent actions performed by your account.The actions include liking or commenting on posts.You can view a list of options related to your profile.
Step 19: Your account information should be reviewed.
The information listed here is public, just like the information in the "About" section.You can use the options below to review other aspects of your profile, including your current occupation, address, and date of birth.You can view your photo albums.Complete with profile pictures, a list of your current friends is available.
Step 20: You can check out the status section.
The account information section is below.You can perform actions such as creating a Status or posting visual media from here.During the creation process, you'll be able to add photos, videos, links and more.Select a photo to be uploaded.Choose from a pre-set list of life events or create your own."What's on your mind?"There is a window in which you can create a status.
Step 21: You can look at the past posts.
Your posts and other content appear in chronological order, with the most recent items appearing first.Older posts will be retrieved if you scroll down through your timeline.
Step 22: Take a moment to review your timelines.
Your Facebook profile page has your profile picture, information, and everything you've ever posted from it.To view the options associated with your cover or profile photo, tap it.Changing your profile or cover photo can be one of the options.The person-shaped icon in the top right corner of the screen is where you can initiate a quick-edit of your profile.You can return to the News Feed by using the backward-facing arrow.You still have access to the News Feed buttons at the bottom of your screen.

Step 29: The person-shaped icon is in the top left corner of the screen.
You can open your Messenger profile by doing this, where you can see your phone number, settings, and Messenger usernames.
Step 30: The + icon is in the top right corner of the screen.
There is a button on this page.You can type in a friend's name to send a message from here.There is a list of commonly-contacted friends.To create a new secret message, tap the top right corner of the screen.
Step 31: To return to the main menu, tap Cancel.
You can find this option in the top left corner of your screen.
Step 32: You can use the search bar to find friends.
There is a bar at the top of the screen.
Step 33: The Messenger buttons are familiar to you.
The Messenger main menu has these at the bottom of it.Return to the Messenger main menu is one of the options they include.You can view your call history or initiate a new call.The button in the middle of the screen allows you to take a picture and send it to someone.You can view and manage your Messenger group conversations.You can see a list of your friends on Facebook.There are pending message requests from non- Facebook friends here.
Step 34: The Home button can be tapped.
Step 35: Right over a message.
You can expose the following options by doing this.You can Silence notifications from your selected conversation.The conversation should be deleted.
Step 36: You can choose a recent message.
You can browse the contents of the message if you open it.The following actions can be performed from within a specific message, if you tap the recipient's name at the top of the page.The camera-shaped icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen can be used to initiate a voice or video call.
Step 37: Continue to use Facebook.
After a few days of Facebook use, performing actions such as friending people and making posts will become second-nature.
Step 38: You can open the Messenger app.
You can use the Messenger app to exit Facebook.Messenger can be opened automatically in the News Feed if you tap the "Messenger" icon.
Step 39: The Home page should be reviewed.
You can see snippets of your conversations here.You can see who your friends are on Facebook in Messenger's "Active Now" section.You can see the rest of your conversations if you scroll past the "Active Now" section.
Step 40: The person icon is in the top right corner of the screen.
You can open your Messenger profile by doing this, where you can see your phone number, settings, and Messenger usernames.
Step 41: The + icon is in the bottom right corner of your screen.
There is a button on this page.You can add to your day by taking a picture for your camera roll.Call a friend.Write a new message to someone.
Step 42: Write a new message.
You can type in a friend's name to send a message from here.There is a list of commonly-contacted friends.A new secret message can be created by sliding the lock switch in the top right corner of the screen to the right.
Step 43: The Messenger main menu has a backward-facing arrow.
You can find this option in the top left corner of your screen.
Step 44: You can use the search bar to find friends.
There is a bar at the top of the screen.
Step 45: The Messenger buttons are familiar to you.
The Messenger main menu has these at the bottom of it.Return to the Messenger main menu is one of the options they include.You can view your call history or initiate a new call.The button in the middle of the screen allows you to take a picture and send it to someone.You can view and manage your Messenger group conversations.You can see a list of your friends on Facebook.There are pending message requests from non- Facebook friends here.
Step 46: Go to the Home button.
Step 47: Press for a message.
You can remove the message from the Home page and send it to the Archive folder.The message should be reported as inappropriate, harassment, or similar.The message should be deleted permanently.Notifications should not appear for this conversation.The status of the message was changed from "Read" to "Unread".The recipient of the conversation should not contact you.
Step 48: You can select a recent message.
You can browse the contents of the message if you open it.The following actions can be performed from within a specific message, if you tap the recipient's name at the top of the page.The camera-shaped icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen can be used to initiate a voice or video call.
Step 49: Continue to use Facebook.
The easier it will be for them to keep track of you, the more you use Facebook's various menus and interface.
