The Huffington Post reported that a blood clot traveled to his brain and caused a stroke after his girlfriend gave him a hickey.

According to Robert Glatter, an emergency room physician at New York City's Lenox Hill Hospital, a hickey can kill you.

It is possible that this could happen, but it is very rare, and parents should be reassured.

Glatter said someone might be more vulnerable to injury from a hickey if they have a disorder.
