Batman has high-tech, crime-fighting gadgets.The canisters and pockets of his utility belt hold many of the useful tools.There is no Batman costume without a replica utility belt.High-tech gadgets and weapons are not included in the price of a utility belt.
Step 1: Get the materials you need.
You will need 3mm foam, scissors, a X-Acto knife, and super glue to make the buckle.Use 3mm foam.For an all yellow belt, use yellow foam and black foam.Black and yellow foam can be used for the base of the buckle and the Batman symbol.
Step 2: There is a pattern on the foam.
You can use a picture of Batman's utility belt as a reference for the design of the Batman Buckle.To make a basic Batman utility belt buckle, you'll need an oval, a ring and a Batman symbol.The oval should be at least 3 feet tall.The middle of the ring should be the same size as the oval.The Batman symbol should not be bigger than the ring's inner dimensions.
Step 3: The patterns should be cut out.
After you've drawn the three pieces on the foam, the ring, and the Batman symbol, cut them out.You can use scissors for larger pieces.The Batman symbol can be used with an X-Acto knife.
Step 4: Attach the pieces together.
To create a border, glue the ring onto the oval.The Batman symbol should be Glued onto the center of the oval.Allow the glue to dry.
Step 5: Get the materials you need.
You will need 5mm foam, scissors, X-Acto knife, cardboard, a ruler, and super glue to make the pouches.If you want an all black belt, use black foam instead of yellow foam.
Step 6: You can create a pattern.
A basic pouch is made from foam.The front, back, and top flap are formed by a long rectangle that is folded.The sides of the other two pieces are shorter and narrower.To make the first piece, use a piece of cardboard or paper that is at least 10 inches long and 4 inches wide.To make the two side pieces, you need to make two pattern pieces out of cardboard or paper.Take out the pattern pieces.You can change the size of the pouch on your utility belt.The pouch must be large enough to hold the item if you want to carry it.Measure the length, width, and depth of the items you plan to carry in the pouch of your utility belt to create a custom-sized pouch.
Step 7: Cut out the pieces by tracing them.
4 to 6 times, trace each piece onto the foam.Cut out all the pieces with scissors.You can always make more pouches if you have more room on your belt.You might need to round the edges of the side pieces with scissors.
Step 8: To form pouches, glue the pieces together.
The flap length must be determined prior to the construction of the pouches.To account for the width of the pouch, add one inch to this measurement.Measure and mark the flap.Measure and mark the length of your flap with a ruler from the top of the rectangle.Place the side pieces together.A thin layer of glue is placed along one long edge of a side piece.Align the top of the side with the mark used to indicate the flap length and glue the edge together.Attach the other side piece to the right edge of the large rectangle.Allow the glue to dry.Place a thin layer of glue on each side piece.Glue shouldn't be put on the top edge.The large rectangle should be folded over the base and side pieces.As the glue sets, hold the large rectangle in place.Continue this process until you have constructed each pouch.
Step 9: Glue it to the flap.
Attach a piece of velcro to the flap of your pouch to prevent it from opening.Cut a small square of velcro for each pouch.Do not pull it apart.The inside of the front flap needs to be Glued onto.There is a small amount of glue on the other side of the velcro.Hold the pouch in place by folding the flap onto it.Remove the velcro once the glue has dried.
Step 10: Found objects can be used for canisters.
You can use a number of different objects if you want to add canisters.Film roll canisters, pill bottles, or some other cylindrical object can fit on a belt.
Step 11: You should get a belt.
Attach everything to a thick leather belt.It doesn't matter what color the belt is if you want to paint the whole thing yellow.If you want your Batman belt to be black or yellow, look for a black leather belt.
Step 12: The pouches, buckle, and optional canisters should be Glued to the belt.
To glue everything to the belt, you'll want to use super glue.Krazy glue will work.Glue does not stick to painted surfaces as well so don't paint until it's all glue on.
Step 13: The belt needs to be painted.
You can paint what you want to be a different color.The canisters and belt will usually be painted yellow.If you want the belt to be yellow, you should use a small brush to get the edges where the belts meet the pouches.
Step 14: It was finished.
