Land Rover: If the engine fails to start, starting the Range Rover Evoque Smart Key not found, help!

If the Smart Key is not detected by the vehicle, it will be necessary to use the keyless start backup to disarm the alarm and start the engine.When the Smart Key Not Found Place is displayed in the message center, the keyless start backup can only be used.The Smart Key should be positioned against the underside of the steering column cover.There are markings on the cover to help locate the correct position.The message Smart Key recognizes will be displayed in the message center when it is positioned in this area.Holding the Smart Key in position and the brake pedal depressed, press and release the START/STOP button to start the engine.You don't need to hold the Smart Key against the steering column cover once the engine starts.If the engine fails to start or the Smart Key isn't recognized, consult your Land Rover Retailer or authorized repairer.To start the engine, make sure the transmission is in P or N and press the Start/Stop button without applying the brake pedal.Hold the pedal in the fully down position and press the START/STOP button when the brake pedal is applied.The engine will start cranking.Release the pedal when the engine starts.If the engine fails to start or crank, consult your Land Rover Retailer.
