When we think of essential workers, healthcare workers and first responders, they come to mind, but what about longshoremen?

A lot of stuff and distribution sales will go short if we weren't doing what we are doing.A lot of their stuff is shipped and it starts on the ship. From that ship, we put it on trucks and get it to the communities where it's needed.
The ports and the river have been maintaining the state's economy despite some workers not working as much as they used to.
A lot of places are laying off or not working at all so it is a blessing to see all our workers. The president of ILA Local 1414 said they have a lower seniority that they are not working as much.
ILA 1414 says they will continue to work and provide for the communities they call home.
