Getting ready for a fancy party isn't just about the dress and hair, it's also about your makeup.Applying makeup for a fancy party is much like applying every day makeup, except you can go bolder with the colors. You want to make sure that your makeup lasts throughout the event.
Step 1: Make your face clean.
You will want to wash your face before applying makeup. After washing your face with warm water, pat it dry with a towel. Before you wash your face if you are going to a party at night, remove your makeup with makeup removal cloths or solutions.
Step 2: Your face should be moist.
Moisturizer keeps your face from drying out or becoming flaky and is important to apply before makeup. It is recommended to use a moisturizer that is oil-free and noncomedogenic for your skin type.If you want to blend it in, apply a quarter size drop to your face.
Step 3: Apply primer
Primer helps your makeup last longer.primer will prevent you from having to continually reapply your makeup if you are going to be up late or at a party where there will be a lot of dancing. It will remove any shininess on your face.If you want to blend it in with your fingers or a sponge, apply a few small dots of primer across your forehead, nose, and cheeks.Primer is only supposed to be a light application, so don't apply too much. You will apply an eyelid primer if you avoid the eye area. Before you apply your primer, make sure your moisturizer is dry. Before applying your foundation, let your primer sit for a few minutes.
Step 4: A foundation is a good way to use it.
After your primer has dried, apply foundation to your skin and blend it in with a foam sponge, fingers, or a foundation brush.Pick a foundation that matches your color and that is suited for your skin type.Look at your skin in the light and make sure the color blends in if you aren't sure.To blend your foundation, begin by applying it to your forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. The foundation should go from the center of your face to the outside. Before moving onto the next step, make sure to compare the shade of your neck and jaw.You don't want your face to be a different shade than your neck if you blend it in.
Step 5: Conceal dark circles.
Put a small dot of concealer over your blemish areas to match your skin color. You can blend it in with your middle finger. As you blend, you don't want to press too hard or blend in too much as this can cause redness or even remove the concealer. If you apply more pressure with your index finger, you should use your middle finger. If you want to highlight your eyes, you can blend it in under your lower eyelid. If you want your highlights to look natural, blend your concealer in until you have a lighter area under your eyes.
Step 6: Put powder in your makeup.
It is possible to keep your face from looking oily by using powder. You can dip the brush into the powder.Make small swirls with the brush as you blend the powder across your face.Use downward strokes to finish. The tiny hairs on your face will not be squeezed in a weird direction. You should choose a powder that matches your skin color.
Step 7: It's a good idea to apply blush to the skin.
If you want to add a bit of color to your face, apply a bronzing shade darker than your skin color.Use a sweeping motion with a brush across your face to create a three, starting at your forehead, moving to your cheeks, and finally your chin. The bronzer should be on your forehead, cheekbone, and jawline. You can blend it in with your brush. If you have pale skin, you might want to skip the bronzer.Don't be afraid to use some blush. You can follow the same steps, but use less bronzer as you don't want to make your face look unnatural.Adding bronzer will add some color and depth to your face.Bronzer is usually used to warm a complexion.Depending on your skin tone, a light brown or grey-brown shadow color is needed. To play with the light and shadows of your face, you'll want a color that will look just a few shades darker, like a real shadow. The fluffier the brush, the better it looks so that you can achieve a more even tone.
Step 8: Apply eyelid primer.
You can apply a thin layer on your upper eyelid by dipping your finger into the primer.Just like the other primer you applied, this primer will help your eyeshadow last longer. Before you apply the rest of your makeup, sit for a minute or two and allow the primer to absorb into your skin.
Step 9: You can choose your colors.
Fancy makeup can be done with many different color combinations. If you are going to a more formal event, you may want to stick to brown and greys. You can use a shimmery eyeshadow if you are going to a fun event. Before your party, try out some different shades to see if you like them.Because brown is a neutral color, you have a lot of options for your eyeshadow. You can wear copper, purple, and blues.Brown eyes can get away with most colors, but usually darker shades look better. The best eye colors for hazel eyes are pastels and metallics.Green and gold can be hidden by heavy shadows.Coral and champagne look best on blue eyes.A very dark, smoky look can distract from your eye color, so sticking to the lighter shades will draw attention to your eyes.Because your eyes have so much color, you don't have to use a lot of eyeshadow to make them pop.Choose eyeshadows that are shimmery brown or purple. If you want to make your eyes stand out, use a color wheel to find your eye color's opposite.Eye shadows with orange tones will help blue eyes pop because orange is blue'sopposite.
Step 10: Apply eyeshadow.
Start by applying a light, neutral shade of eyeshadow to your upper eyelid, below the crease, and then blend it with an eyebrow brush. Then, apply a light, shimmery eyeshadow like cream or white to the inner corners of your eyes for an extra highlight. If you want the color to be one or two shades darker than your eyelid color, blend a darker shade into the crease of your eye.Put a dark color above your crease and blend it with an eyeshadow brush. For blue eyes, you could use a light champagne color for your eyelid, a peach, coral, or darker peach above your crease. You have a lot of flexibility for brown eyes.If you want to go darker as you move up, choose a light color for your eyes.Don't use a purple on your crease and a brown above it if you want to stay in the same shades. If you want to do a smoky eye for hazel eyes, you can use a light, shimmery grey above the crease of your eye or a purple eye.Don't go as dark as plum if you want to apply a rich purple above your crease. For green eyes, go for a shimmery brown look.Pick a light champagne for your eyelid, fill in your crease with a golden or beige eyeshadow, and then use a shimmery bronze above the crease.Make sure that your eyeshadow isn't close to your eyebrow. You want your eyeshadow to end above the crease of your eye.To achieve a smokey eye look, start with the lightest shade of eyeshadow in your inner eye, then move across the eye with every shade getting darker. For example, on a blue eye, you could start with a light white on the inner corners of your eyes, cover most of the lid, and then add a darker peach/gold/bronze shadow to match the shadows you've used.
Step 11: You can make your eyes look better with eyeliner.
Liquid or pencil eyeliner can be used.Start from the corner of your eye and move to the end of the eyelid with a thin line of eyeliner. You can make a wing or cat eye with your eyeliner, drawing the line past your eyelid half an inch or so.It's a good idea to place a piece of tape next to your eye if you're doing top eyeliner.Take a piece of tape and line it up with your eyelid's outer edge.It should be placed away from your upper eyelid towards the end of your eyebrow. The color of your eyeliner is up to you.If you have naturally light lashes, a light or dark brown may be better suited for you.If you want to add glitter to your eyes, you can choose a shimmery bronze or blue color.People's eyes look smaller when you use eyeliner on their lower lashes.Adding eyeshadow to your lower lashes will make your eyes look bigger.A thin slanted eyeshadow/eyebrow brush can be used to perfect that fierce wing.Place a small amount of eyeliner on the tip of the brush.
Step 12: You should apply eyeshadow to your eye.
In addition to it, this is in place of your under eye eyeliner.Use a medium shadow and apply it to the outer corner of your eye with a thin eyeshadow brush. You can blend it in with an eyeshadow brush. It's up to you, what you want to do under your eyes.If you feel like you need something more, add under eye eyeliner or eyeshadow. If you like the way you look, leave it at that.Light blue or purple is a fun color to choose for under your eye.
Step 13: You should apply mascara.
Pick a mascara that suits your hair color for the final touches to your eye.If you want to start at the base of your top lashes, you need to dip your mascara brush in your bottle. You need to wiggle your mascara brush through your lashes. If you don't have your desired color, apply one or two more coats. If you want to apply the mascara to the top of the lashes, you have to repeat this step on your lower lashes.Dark hair can benefit from using a black mascara.Light hair can benefit from a dark brown or brown mascara. It won't make your lashes look spidery, but it will still look mostly black on your eyelashes. If you want to add definition to your eyelashes, you can use an eyelash curler.
Step 14: Apply blush to yourself.
If you plan on taking a lot of pictures at your party, blush is important because it can help highlight your cheekbones and prevent your face from looking pale or washed out.To find the apple of your cheeks, smile and then use a blush brush to blend it in.For your blush color, choose between a baby pink or pale pink. The most natural look for fair skin is this one.If you have fair skin, you can use a peach blush in a sheer texture. You can use a plum colored blush in a translucent shade if you want to go a little more dramatic for a night out.A plum colored blush is a shade darker than your lip color.Medium skin will bring out the natural warm colors in your skin if you wear a blush that is an apricot shade.Because a pale pink looks good on fair skin, a medium pink is good for medium skin. For a more dramatic look, choose a pale purple color that has a hint of plum. The green color in the skin will be hidden by warm tones like an orangey-peach.A rose or bronze colored blush will add warmth to your skin and help boost the olive color. You can use the same colors if you have fair olive skin.Dark skin can be found in shades like brick and cranberry.A bright tangerine will be pretty and subtle on dark skin.
Step 15: Your lips should be moist.
When you know you are going to be wearing lipstick for a long time, this step is beneficial. You can prep your lips for lipstick by making them moist. You can apply a scrub to your lips.Apply a layer of lip balm after rinsing it off.Allow the lip balm to sit on your lips for a few minutes, then wipe it off.
Step 16: Line your lips with a liner.
A lip pencil or liner that resembles your natural lip color is a good choice. This will help keep your lipstick out of your mouth. If you want to keep the color from fading from your lips, you can use your lip liner.
Step 17: You can apply a bold lipstick color.
If you are going to a fancy party, you have the chance to wear a fun or bold lipstick color. If you want to stay inside your lips, start from the center of your top lip.Rub your lips together after applying lipstick to your bottom lip.If you want something simple, choose a neutral color. It is your choice. For fair skin, there are berry colors or blue-based shades of reds and purples, as well as light pinks with sugars and nudes.Light, glossy pinks, brown based shades of peach and tan, and berry brown with hints of pink, are some of the shades on the olive skin.
Step 18: You can use a tissue to clean your lips.
If you have excess lipstick, you may want to remove some of it.Put the tissue between your lips by folding it in half. When applying lipstick to the tissue, press your lips down a few times until you don't see any lipstick anymore.Touch up the edge or outside of your lips with tissue and makeup. If you want to smudge lipstick, you can hold a tissue over your lips and use a big fluffy brush. This will take the excess lip color off of your lips without getting any on your face or the brush.).
Step 19: Set makeup with a spray.
You can use a setting spray to make your makeup last longer after you have applied it.Hold the spray a foot or so away from your face.Allow it to dry.If you have dry or sensitive skin try to avoid sprays with alcohol as they can dry out your skin.
