Manhunt is a great game to play at any time of day or night. It is a lot of action and will never get boring. The game from the 1990s, Manhunt, is a fun game to play.
Step 1: Understand the purpose of the game.
The goal is for the hunted to get to the escape zone. Before they get to the escape zone, the hunters have to find and "tag" the hunted. Both players have their own bases. The players who are hunted have to reach their base. The hunters patrol around to keep an eye on the hunted.
Step 2: You have to get six players.
The amount of players should not be changed.Decide which team hides first by dividing everyone into two equal teams. Each team has two captains. The bases of the teams should be close together.
Step 3: You can play day or night.
Both of them have advantages and disadvantages.Playing during the day gives more visibility and time to play the game, but it may be hot and the streets will be busy.Night will be cooler and less busy, as well as helping to hide the players in darkness, but your visibility is decreased, which increases the risk of people getting hurt or lost.If playing at night, make sure all players have a flashlight and a communication device.
Step 4: You can play Captains Rule or Majority Rules.
The hiding team wins if the captain gets to base untagged. If the majority gets to base without being tagged, that team wins.
Step 5: The game should be fair even out the teams.
If one of your players has asthma or is a slow runner, pair them up with an older or faster person.
Step 6: "out of bounds" areas need to be established.
If you are caught in an out-of-bounds area, you will be tagged and have to go back to base.Make sure players know that private property, cars, and abandoned buildings are not allowed, since they could get you in trouble or be hazardous.
Step 7: There is a time limit.
You can get through a lot of games if you have a time limit on the hiding team.Make sure everyone knows that a good time is around 10 minutes.
Step 8: There is a signal that should indicate when the game starts.
A loud yell or air horn is a good sign.If necessary, the captains can call a time out.
Step 9: If someone gets lost or if it's time to come out of hiding, all of the players should have a form of communication.
A group text is a good way to communicate. You can use this to your advantage.Making it easy to communicate amongst each other, teams can create their own walkie-talkie channel.
Step 10: Wear clothes that are lightweight and dark.
Choose between brown, grey, navy blue or camouflage.Black makes your silhouette stand out against other objects. It will make it harder to run if you wear clothing that restricts your movement. If you're playing at night, be cautious with fluorescent or bright colors; this will make you more visible to cars and passersby, but it will also cause you to be seen by other players.Don't wear your best clothes.Manhunt can involve a lot of crawling.Pick out clothes that will not show a stain, or clothes you don't care about. If you're wearing shoes with laces, keep them tied so that you don't slow yourself down.
Step 11: Don't enter areas that could get you into trouble.
If the boundaries are loose, make sure to stay out of areas that could hurt you.Stay out of abandoned buildings, cars, houses that aren't yours or a friend's, areas that are under construction, and areas with potentially dangerous materials in them.Don't play in forested areas at night if you've never been there before. The risk of getting lost is always there at any time of day, and if you're playing at night, it's much easier to not see potential dangers.Going out-of-bounds can be fun, but can also result in you getting lost.Don't wander too far away from in-bounds, and stay out of areas that you do not know very well.
Step 12: Don't try to draw attention to yourself.
It's important not to make yourself visible to other players, since that will alert them of your presence. If you don't know the area, try the following tips to make yourself less noticeable.Rather than shouting, whisper to other players.Unless it's to create a distraction, don't make a lot of noise in your surroundings.A park gate is slammed and a person runs off.Don't alert someone with your footsteps, walk quietly.
Step 13: You can hide in the covered areas.
Duck into areas such as bushes, sides of ditches with trees that have drooped branches for cover, alleyway corners, hills, and more.If possible, hide in areas that match the color of your clothes.
Step 14: It is a good idea to be cautious when it comes to cars.
Cars can provide good cover, but they can also drive away at a moment's notice.Don't look into anyone's car if you're using cars for cover, and make sure to duck under the windows to prevent others from seeing your silhouette.Since you don't want to have to jump from the truck while it's moving, hide in the bed of a pickup truck. There is a hiding place underneath cars. You don't want to get hurt if you hide under a car, and many people do not check under their cars before driving.
Step 15: Stay still, stay still.
If you spot a hunter headed your way, make yourself into the smallest object you can, stick close to shadows and stay still. If you blend in with your surroundings, the hunter will not notice you.
Step 16: If you can make it back to your base without being tagged, that's great.
Make sure you don't touch the other team's base. You're disqualified until the next game if you touch the other team's base.Depending on the group's rules of the game, you become a hunter or disqualified if you get tagged.
Step 17: You should be stealthy.
The hunted will be on the lookout for hunters, so you might think this applies only to them.Try to blend in with your surroundings by moving quietly. You want to have less time to escape so that the hunted don't notice you so quickly.
Step 18: You need to be on the look out.
There are small things that can give away where someone is hiding. If it doesn't look right to you, check it out and approach it.You could find a hidden player from the other team.
Step 19: You must check up and down.
When it comes to games like this, most people look for other people at eye level.Up trees or underneath objects are places strategic players may hide.Don't just look around, look up and down as well. This will increase your chances of catching a player.
Step 20: Don't loiter around the base of the opposing team.
The entire game is pointless if you stand right at the hunted team's base to prevent them from getting to their base.Discuss with both teams how long the hunters can stay at the opposing team's base before the game starts.Feel free to stick around if both teams don't care about fairness. It will make it even harder for them.
