To get a motorcycle endorsement, you must pass the skills test and have a valid motorcycle instruction permit.You can find information on the Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Center Website.You can schedule a skills test by calling or online.
If you pass the skills test, you will be able to add the motorcycle endorsement to your current driver's license.If your license is up for renewal, you can add the endorsement by selecting the type of license and then selecting Renew License.
You won't be allowed to operate three-wheelers if you test on a motorcycle.
The application to add the motorcycle endorsement will need to be signed by a parent or court-appointed guardian.
After you have had time to improve your riding skills, you can take the skills test again.Before your next skills test is given, you will be assigned practice time that must be completed.
You will need to take a knowledge test to get a Minnesota driver's license if you have a motorcycle endorsement from another state.You can take both the motorcycle knowledge and the driver's license knowledge at the same time.You will not have to take the motorcycle skills test if you pass the written test.The endorsement fee will be added to the cost of your license.
Motorcycles must be registered with the state and have a license plate showing that tax has been paid.The last day of February is when the registration period ends.At the end of February, re- registration is no longer required.Minnesota residents have 60 days to register their motorcycles.For more information, call your local deputy registrar or visit the Motorcycle License Plates Page.
