Moving like a ninja involves learning how to travel stealthily and silently on foot while simultaneously making use of your environment to hide you.With a little practice, you will be able to learn how to move like a ninja after years of training.
Step 1: Take a standing position and bend your knees.
The shoulder is about a shoulder's width apart.Bring the hands up to the waist.Keep your palms facing the ground and make sure they are a few inches in front of you.You can balance yourself better by bending your knees.It's important to breathe slowly and evenly.It will end up having the opposite effect if you hold your breath in an effort to move silently.
Step 2: You should shift your weight to your right leg.
Slowly raise your left foot after you shifted your weight to your right leg.As you lift your foot, use your right leg to maintain your balance.If you raise your left leg so that your knee is at waist level, stop.Continue using your legs and hands to balance on one foot.
Step 3: Without moving your knee, extend your left foot forward.
As long as your balance allows, do this as slowly as possible.Keep extending until you can see your left foot hovering over the ground.Slowly, you will shift some of the weight from your right leg to your left.When you shift your weight to your left leg in mid-air, your right leg will need more effort and muscle control to keep you balanced.
Step 4: Slowly lower your foot to the ground.
Lower your foot to the ground using slow, measured movements.Slowly shift the weight from the right to the left leg.Make contact with the ground by pointing your left toes downward.Try not to stiffen your knees and keep them loose.Allow your body weight to sink and be carried by your knees.
Step 5: Touch the ground with your left foot.
The toe on the ground is the only one that should be touching it.You can control your balance by shifting more weight to the left and using your toe and right leg.
Step 6: Start touching the bottom of your toes.
You will start with the smallest toes.As you slowly and silently put down another toe, shift a little more of your weight to the left.Continue shifting your weight and controlling your balance as you touch down the other left toes, ending with your big toe.At this point, your left toes should be touching the ground.There should be no other part of your foot on the ground.
Step 7: You should balance yourself on your left.
With your weight evenly distributed to the left toes and right leg, you are in mid-stride.Start shifting more weight to your left toes while you simultaneously begin to flex your right foot forward, bringing your heel off the ground in preparation of the next stride.Try to keep your movements to a minimum.
Step 8: Your knee is at the waist level if you raise your right leg.
Roll your left foot down from the toes as you raise your right foot to put weight on the ball.Continue to lower until your foot touches the ground.You are halfway through the next step.With your right leg in the air, almost all of your weight should be shifted onto your left side.The most difficult part is balance and muscle control.
Step 9: You don't have to move your knee if you extend your foot forward.
Keep extending until you can see your right foot hovering over the ground.As long as you can, move as slowly as possible.Shift some of the weight from your left leg to the right as you slowly extend your right foot.As you shift your weight, maintain muscle control and balance.
Step 10: Slowly and silently lower your right foot.
Touch down first with your right big toe.Slowly begin touching your other toes to the ground.Transfer more weight to your right foot when you bring your toes down.You should be balanced.The toes on your right foot are touching the ground.Your left foot is on the ground.At about waist height, the hands should be facing with the palms down, a few inches in front of you.
Step 11: Slowly move forward in this way.
Use the same method of moving from one tiptoe to the next, shifting your weight back and forth and maintaining your balance as you go.The most common ninja style was stealth walking.The goal was to move slowly and silently.It's called Shinobi-ashi and it means quiet feet.
Step 12: Control every movement and slow down.
If you want to move like a ninja, practice controlled movements all the time.The idea in ninja training was to move so slowly and so quietly that your movements wouldn't catch the attention of the enemy.If you see anyone, especially if they are facing in your direction, freeze in place and think about your next move.Silence and slow, controlled movements were at the heart of all ninja techniques.
Step 13: When you are moving, stick to the shadows.
You have to stay silent as you move slowly and stealthily around.You can navigate the shadows if you are aware of light sources.There were still other light sources to contend with, such as enemy campfires, and ninjas almost always moved under the cover of night.As you practice moving in shadows, keep in mind that you will have many other light sources to contend with in the modern world.
Step 14: Slow breathing at all times.
You should breathe along with your movement.If you are startled or accidentally unbalanced, you can cause a gasping release of breath if you don't consciously hold your breath.It is possible to keep calm and focused with controlled breathing.Simple breathing exercises can be used to practice rhythmic breathing.It is possible to practice yoga, which emphasizes controlled breathing.The benefits of yoga include making you more flexible and helping you move more fluidly.
Step 15: You can use any noises to your advantage.
Natural noise in your environment can be used to your advantage.Plan movements can cause noise.Any movement that makes a sound will be drowned out by the natural noise.False sounds can distract the enemy.Try throwing a rock in the opposite direction of where you are hiding.It will cause your enemy to look away from you and in the direction of the noise.The art of concealing sound was called Joei-on jutsu by the ninja.
Step 16: You can blend in with your environment.
To hide yourself, use the silhouettes of your surroundings.The objects can be anything.You can freeze in place and blend into the shadows of the elements around you.Blending in and hiding behind objects was a common tactic.Any natural or man-made objects in your environment can be used.
Step 17: Hold positions for a long time.
You will need to learn to hold yourself still for long periods of time if you are forced to stop moving.You are trying to make yourself invisible to the enemy by freezing in place.The ninja used a method called Uzura-gakure.It involved crouching very low to the ground with your arms in front of your face.The ninja would use Uzura-gakure to blend into the darkness and be as still as a stone.This skill requires a lot of practice and muscle control, so yoga is a great way to train for it.
Step 18: There are bodies of water that you can hide in.
Ninjas used to hide in lakes, ponds, and streams during their training.You can stay underwater for longer than usual if you control your breathing.If you have to be in the water for long periods of time, use reeds, bamboo shoots, or any other device to help you breathe.
Step 19: Be patient.
Extreme patience is required in the art of concealment.Unless the mission specifically called for it, speed of travel was not emphasized.You should take as much time as you can.Impatience and hasty movements are two of the greatest dangers to anyone trying to hide.If you want to move, advance or escape, wait for the perfect moment.In hiding situations, the ninja used controlled breathing to maintain their composure.
