It can be difficult to get a wetsuit on.While the tight, form-fitting suits can be lifesavers in cold water and are necessary for a lot of diving and scuba activities, they are far from easy to get out of.If the person trying to put on the suit is already wet, the task becomes even more difficult.
Step 1: Put protective gear on.
Put on your protective gear now.The rash suit is usually made of Lycra.Some people prefer to only wear their bathing suits.
Step 2: The wetsuit needs to be un-ZIPPED.
.You need to make sure that the suit is open.The back of most wetsuits has a zip.If there are any problems with the zippers, work them out now.
Step 3: You should start with your feet and legs.
Once you have the wetsuit lined up, pull it over your foot and ankle and work it up over the knee one leg at a time.Make sure the wetsuit padding is straight.There shouldn't be any large folds.Once the wetsuit is up, switch to the other leg.If the wetsuit is wet and you can't pull it on, use plastic bags or socks on your feet.It can be made easier by this.You can use vegetable oil as a lubricant.As you move up your legs, work out in the wetsuit.
Step 4: Next, pull over your hips.
Pull the suit up over your torso and onto your shoulders once it is past mid thigh on both legs.You shouldn't have any loose fabric or pockets, but your crotch should not be pinched.It should feel like a second skin.To make sure the fit is right, you can jump up and down.The purpose of the wetsuit is ruined by loose pockets.The wetsuit shouldn't be too tight.If you can't move, take it off and get a bigger size.
Step 5: Place one arm at a time.
You used the same method with your legs.There are fingernails on the fabric.Lift the suit onto your chest by pulling it up with your arms.You want the wetsuit to be snug and tight, just like it was with your crotch.
Step 6: Make sure the deal is sealed.
A friend can help you zip up your wetsuit.It can put strain on the suit if you reach and try to zip it yourself.
Step 7: It should be locked up.
The suit should have fastenings at the neck area.Make your suit more watertight by closing the fastenings.
Step 8: Make sure the fit is right.
You can do a few jumps or squats by walking around, raising your knees, rotating your shoulders, and bending your arms.The snugness of the wetsuit shouldn't restrict your movement.There should be no big pockets or loose areas.If your movement is restricted, take the suit off and get a bigger one.If you have large pockets or loose areas, take the suit off and get a smaller one.
Step 9: Finish up.
If you are going to be using a hood, you can put it on now that the suit is on.That's good.Enjoy the water!
Step 10: Zip.
Remove the hood if you are wearing it.Leave it inside.If it is a rear-ZIP wetsuit, have a friend or partner open it.
Step 11: The wetsuit should be removed from your neck and shoulders.
Remove the wetsuit from your neck and shoulders.To remove it from your shoulders, you need to slide a thumb between your shoulder and the wetsuit.
Step 12: Take your arms out.
Remove your arms at a time.Don't use fingernails, use your fingertips.Pull the arms out of their sleeves.
Step 13: You should pull it down on your torso and hips.
Pull the suit down on your body.You want to pull it past your hips in a single motion.You need to wiggle to get the wetsuit past your crotch and buttocks.
Step 14: Take your legs out.
Put the wetsuit on your legs.Put a hand inside of the wetsuit at the ankle to hold the leg open while you slide your foot out.When you are done, repeat with the other foot.It's much easier to take off a wet wetsuit than it is to put one on.To get some fresh air, leave the wetsuit inside.You might end up peeing inside your wetsuit if you leave it inside.It's normal to pee inside your wetsuit.The pee can make the wetsuit a lot warmer because you are stuck in it for a long time.
Step 15: The wetsuit needs to be cleaned.
It's a good idea to rinse the wetsuit with fresh water.Let the wetsuit dry.To dry it, never use heat or an automatic dryer.The rubber of the wetsuit can become brittle.The inside of the wetsuit should be cleaned thoroughly.
