The European Food Safety Authority concluded that exposure to taurine and glucuronolactone at the levels currently used in energy drinks is not a safety concern.There is insufficient evidence to support a number of commercial health claims about taurine, according to a separate analysis.There were no documented reports of negative or positive health effects associated with the amount of taurine used in energy drinks.The review states that the levels of caffeine and sugar in the energy drink are comparable to those found in coffee and fruit juice, but these levels have been shown to cause adverse health effects.[47]

The consumption of other energy drinks at concentrations commonly present in such beverages would not affect the safety of single doses of caffeine.Habitual use of a lot of the stuff doesn't.[22]

The number of emergency department visits by people over the age of 12 related to energy drinks doubled between 2007 and 2011.48

The caffeine content of a single 250ml can of Red Bull is between 80 and 40 percent.Some countries have legal restrictions on how much caffeine is allowed in drinks, while others have no restrictions at all.Red Bull drinkers may experience adverse effects as a result of excessive use.The effects of excessive consumption can include mild to moderate euphoria, as well as anxiety, depression, and insomnia.51, 52, and 38 were used.

The general population of healthy adults are not at risk for adverse effects from caffeine if they limit their consumption to 400mg per day, which is the equivalent of 5 standard cans.Consumption of a single energy drink won't lead to excessive caffeine intake.There are adverse effects associated with caffeine consumption in amounts greater than 400.It has been known to cause pupils to dilate when taken with certain drugs.Some advocates want the FDA to change the practice of not requiring a dose on the product label for food in the United States.Each can of Red Bull has a list of ingredient and caffeine content.)[56]

Red Bull was not allowed to be sold domestically in several countries.It is on sale in all 27 member states of the European Union and in more than 167 countries around the world.

taurine was a concern for the French food safety agency.A drink with no taurine was introduced.The European Court of Justice partially upheld the European Commission's challenge to the French refusal of market approval.The French food safety agency relented in 2008 because they couldn't prove a health risk.[58]

The Kuwait Ministry of Commerce banned Red Bull for people under the age of 16 after it was accused of causing heart attacks for two people.59, 60, 61, 62, 63.

The Redwell Brewery was told to change its name or face legal action by Red Bull because it sounded too similar to the energy drink.The brewery was told its name could confuse customers andtarnish its trademark.Redwell can continue using its name after the two companies reached a settlement.[65]

The United States District Court for the Southern District of New York had two consumer class action lawsuits against Red Bull.The company was sued by three people who alleged that Red Bull lied about the benefits of the drink's ingredients.On 1 May 2015, the Court approved the settlement, giving customers who had submitted claims the opportunity to receive a US$10 cash reimbursement or US$15 in Red Bull products within 150 days of affirmamce on any appeal.The drink did not give consumers actual wings, as was reported by some news outlets.71

Vorayuth "Boss" Yoovidhya was accused of crashing his car into a policeman in Thailand in 2012 and then fleeing the scene.Many Thais were angered by the move to drop charges and called for a boycott of Red Bull products.72

The Red Bull parent company tried to distance itself from the car crash heir by releasing a statement.73

Red Bull's slogan has been "Red Bull gives you wings" since 1997.Characters with constant squints were usually featured in commercials.
