Mapua is the only institution in the Philippines that uses the Quarter System of education.Students are only given a maximum of fifteen units per term, with longer number of classroom hours per week per unit.The shorter number of weeks per term would be compensated by this.The system allows students to finish a program one year ahead of schedule, as well as giving them a more manageable academic load.
The only Philippine institution that applied for accreditation was Mapua.Mapua programs would be equivalent to the university programs in the United States if this certification is granted.
In the past eight years, Mapua has produced 20 Board 1st Placers in Engineering and Architecture and is the only school in the Philippines to have the most number of Level III PACUCOA accredited Engineering programs.

A. E.T.The scholarship offers free tuition and other fees for the entire duration of the program with a quarterly stipend of P 5,000.00 and one academic adviser.
Incoming college freshmen with a rating of 80% or higher on the Mapua Entrance exam are eligible.They have to pass the scholarship examination and panel interview.Every quarter the scholar must maintain an average of at least 1.75 and no failing grade.
B.Half of the scholarship is given to high school salutatorians.The scholarship will be in effect for two quarters.
The scholarship applies to incoming college freshmen if the valedictorian or salutatorian is a graduate from a group of at least 20 students.
The scholarship will be given to the student on the 2nd quarter if he/she doesn't get a failing grade.
A 40% discount on tuition fee for incoming freshmen is provided by the income-based financial assistance program.The student's family income must not be more than half a million dollars a year.The incentive will be given to the student with the highest rating in the Mapua Entrance Examination.
The scholar has to maintain a good grade point average.The scholar can't shift to another program.

This program applies to students who work in assigned departments.The incentive for work rendered to Mapua to cover quarterly loanable amount may be used to purchase supplies at the mapua bookstore or pay for service in other departments.
