Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast is referred to as SCOBY.When added to sweet black tea, Scoobies transform it into a tea that has a natural probiotic that can improve gut health. If you want to make your own tea at home, you have to grow it yourself. To do this, you will need to make black sweet tea, put it in a jar with a bottle of tea and leave it for a few weeks. You can use the scoby to make fresh batches of homemade tea.
Step 1: A pot with 2 cups of water in it.
Pour 2 cups of water into a large pot from a measuring cup. When it begins to boil, place it on a burner and turn the burner on high heat.
Step 2: Stir the pot for 5 minutes with the 3 cup of sugar.
When the water starts to boil, add 3 cup of white sugar to the pot.Use a wooden spoon to stir the sugar into the water. It should take about 5 minutes.
Step 3: The burner needs to be turned off.
Once the sugar is in the water, turn the burner off.The sugar water should not be boiling if the pot is kept on the burner.
Step 4: Let the black tea bags steep for 10 minutes.
Drop in 2 black tea bags and use a wooden spoon to push them beneath the water. The tea bags should be put in the water a couple of times.Leave the pot alone for a while so the tea bags can steep.
Step 5: Allow the tea to cool completely and remove the bags.
Take the tea bags out of the pot and give it some time to cool down.Wait until the tea is at room temperature before doing anything with it.
Step 6: Black tea can be put into a jar.
It's a good idea to get a large glass jar so that you don't have any germs in it.Put in your room temperature tea.You can easily and effectively clean your jar by washing it with hot water.
Step 7: There is a bottle of store-bought kombucha tea.
You can get a bottle of raw organic kombucha tea and pour the entire contents of the bottle into your tea.You can buy a bottle of tea at a grocery store.
Step 8: Wrap the jar in a paper towel and secure it with a rubber band
If you want to completely cover the opening of your glass jar, lay a paper towel over it.Wrap a rubber band around the top of the jar to secure it.Don't put a normal lid on the jar.The tea mixture needs to be exposed to air in order for it to grow.Fruit flies and other pests may be attracted to your tea mixture without the rubber band.
Step 9: Store near.
Try to keep the temperature at 72–80 F (22– 27C) by placing the jar in a dark place.Wait about 2 weeks and then check on the tea mixture every day to see how it has changed. When it is 8 inch (0.32 cm) thick, you can start using it.It will take more time for your scoby to grow if you store your tea mixture in a cooler area.Place a heating mat underneath the tea mixture to promote growth if this is the case.
Step 10: In 13 cups of water, you can brew up to 7 bags of tea.
Put the water in a pot and set it on fire.Bring the water to a boil by turning the burner on.Put the tea bags in and let them steep for a while.
Step 11: Stir in a cup of sugar.
The tea bags should be removed.Put 1 cup of sugar in a measuring cup and brew tea. When the sugar has dissolved completely, stir the tea.
Step 12: Allow the tea to cool and then put it in a jar.
Before you transfer the tea to a larger jar, make sure it cools down to about 20 C.You need to let your tea cool completely or it will kill your dog.
Step 13: The starter tea should be put into the new tea.
After pouring your tea into a jar, take the jar of starter tea with you.The contents of the smaller jar can be poured into the larger jar.Wrap the larger jar opening in a paper towel and secure it with a rubber band. The starter tea is likely to have a bitter taste at this point because the scoby feeds on sugar.
Step 14: It can be kept at a room temperature for a few days to carbonate.
You should keep your tea out of the sun and in a room temperature environment for a few days. This will make your tea look like kombucha tea.
Step 15: Drink it within a month if you store it in the fridge.
If you keep it at room temperature for a couple of days, you will want to move it to the fridge. You should drink your tea within a month.
