When trying to sell a house, people often suck the statue of St. Joseph.Depending on who you ask, the exact location of the statue can be different, but there is still a general procedure you should follow.
Step 1: There is a statue of Saint Joseph.
The burial will be easier if you choose a small statue. You can find saint statues at Catholic supply stores. The ideal height is between 3 and 4 inches. You can buy a St. Joseph kit from some real estate offices.Instructions on the practice, a statue of St. Joseph, and a prayer card are included in the kits.
Step 2: The statue should be wrapped in cloth.
Wrap a soft, clean cloth around the statue several times, covering all sides, including the top and bottom.Consider placing the statue in a bag.You could place the statue in a plastic bag or wrap it in plastic. It is supposed to be protected from as much dirt and damage as possible. It is a matter of practicality, but it is also a sign of respect.St. Joseph is still a saint, so you should show respect for his likeness even though you are burying his statue.
Step 3: The statue should be knocked down.
To fit the entire statue, dig a deep hole in your yard. Then fill the rest of the hole with dirt. There is no one definitive choice when it comes to the exact placement of the statue.Tradition says that you should bury the statue near the "For Sale" sign or the road. The hole is upside-down and facing your house. The statue should face the road in order to symbolize leaving the home.Tradition says that the statue should be lying on its back, pointing toward the house. The statue could be placed in the rear yard flower bed or away from the house.
Step 4: The statue can be buried in a flower pot.
You can't bury the statue in a yard if you live in an apartment or condo. The statue should be buried in a large flower pot.The flower pot can be placed on a deck, patio, or windowsill. There is something that can grow in the flower pot.The rest of the tradition is the same. The statue should be wrapped in protective cloth and treated with reverence.
Step 5: The statue could be kept in your home.
The statue of St. Joseph should be placed in your home instead of being buried. The statue can be put down in a window or on a counter in front of the "For Sale" sign. You don't need to wrap the statue in cloth. It's not doctrine to bury the statue. There is no Catholic doctrine that says burying a statue of St. Joseph will help you sell your house. If you keep a statue of St. Joseph in your home during the sale, it will likely work as well.
Step 6: Please pray for the burial.
You should say a prayer to St. Joseph when you bury the statue. You can choose from a pre-written prayer or a prayer from your own heart. If St. Joseph wants to get out of the ground, he should sell your home. These prayers are not preferred because they undermine the value of asking for help."O Blessed St. Joseph, tenderhearted father, faithful guardian of Jesus, chaste spouse of the Mother of God, I pray you to join with me in praising God the Father through his divine Son who died on the cross and rose."Through the name of Jesus, please allow us to obtain from the eternal Father the favor we ask for: our home sale.We need Jesus' mercy for our brothers and sisters because we have been unfaithful to God.Do not forget the sorrows of those who weep.By your prayers and those of your most holy spouse, our blessed Lady, may the love of Jesus answer our call of confident hope.Amen.
Step 7: You should say a prayer every day until the house sells.
While saying a single prayer at the time of burial is good, repeating a prayer for intercession each day from that point on shows a greater degree of faith and earnestness. You can offer a different prayer each day.
Step 8: There is a nine-day novena.
Say a novena instead of saying a standard prayer.A set of prayers is called a novena. You say a different prayer each day and follow it with an "Our Father", but there are different variations.God, bless the ordinary lives we quietly live and love your people. As you blessed St. Joseph, please bless what I do, hidden and simple, and let me be done with love.God, always faithful, remember us and in time reveal your blessings.Don't let me lose faith in the wonderful gifts you promise me, as St. Joseph did.God of families, bless the family that's mine.Don't allow evil to come between us, and keep us safe from harm.Allow peace to remain in our hearts.God, be kind to our children today.Give them eyes of faith for seeing far, a loving heart for welcoming life, and a place at your side.God, bless our home on earth. The spirit of Mary and Joseph can rest at our table and help shape our words and actions.Give your fatherly spirit to those who are fathers now.Like Joseph, give them strength and love for their wives and children.Give shelter, O God, to those who need it, and bring families together. We need enough to eat and decent work to get our bread.O God, care for us.O Lord, bless all families and those in need.Remembering the life of your Son, we pray for the poor and those in exile.O God, grant them a guardian like Joseph.
Step 9: When your house is for sale, dig up the statue.
Remove the statue from the yard as soon as the contract is signed and the final details are in order.Remove the protective cloth and wash away any dirt that got on the statue. The new owners of the house will not be able to stay there for a long time if you leave the statue in the yard.Until the statue is removed, new owners will come and go.The statue should be removed as a sign of respect even though there is no proof to back the legend.
Step 10: Give thanks
Give a prayer of thanks to both God and St. Joseph. You can offer a prayer from your heart and in your own words, or you can say a generic pre-written prayer of thanks. The most important thing is to pray sincerely."Heavenly Father, I thank you for my life and everything you have bestowed upon me and all people, this day and every day," is an example prayer of thanks.Without the understanding of forgiveness and your holy power, we wouldn't have anything.I would like to thank you for everything you have done for us.I ask you to forgive me for what I might have done wrong, even if I didn't notice it.I am thankful for the sacrifice of your only son Jesus Christ for all of our sins, even though we all come short of the glory of God.You are the only one who knows if our hearts are true.Again, I thank you with all my heart and soul.I pray in the name of Christ.Amen.
Step 11: You can put the statue in a place of honor.
It is customary to display the statue you buried in your new home since St. Joseph helped you sell your home.It shows gratitude and reverence. The display doesn't need to be fancy. You can simply sit the statue on your desk.
