wigs made from synthetic fibers require more care than wigs that are straight. The plastic fibers are sensitive to high temperatures and can't be straightened with a hair dryer.wigs made from heat- resistant fibers are one exception. There are three simple ways to fix a synthetic fiber wig.It will show you how to make a wig with synthetic fibers.
Step 1: Get a wig head.
You can find them in costume shops, arts and crafts stores, wig shops and beauty supply shops. You can purchase them online. They are made out of white Styrofoam and look like a human head.
Step 2: The wig head should be on a secure stand.
You can buy wigs from a wig shop. You can make your own with a wooden base and a hole in the middle of it.Short and medium-length wigs can be made with a toilet plunger.Short wigs can be made with a soda bottle filled with water, sand, or rocks. The wig head can be moved to any angle with a camera tripod.
Step 3: Place your wig over the wig head.
At the temples, along the sides, and at the nape, push a pin through the top of the head. You can use sewing pins or T-pins.
Step 4: You can de-tangle your wig with a wire wig brush.
Run the comb through the fibers.Start from the ends of small sections. You have to work your way up to the top.Don't brush a wig from the roots to the ends.Don't use your own hairbrush. The fibers will be damaged by the oils in your hair.Don't use a regular hairbrush. This also includes paddle brushes. This can cause damage to the fibers.
Step 5: Run a wide-toothed comb through your wig.
When you get your wig wet, you can't brush it again until the fibers dry. It's a bad idea to brush a wet wig.
Step 6: You can place a pot of water on the stove.
The water should be boiled to a temperature range. To make sure you have enough water to pour over your wig, try to use the largest pot you can find. The larger the pot, the longer your wig is.
Step 7: The water should be heated to 180 degrees.
This is important. The wig won't fit if the water is not hot.The fibers may melt if the water is too hot.
Step 8: The wig should be covered with the hot water.
If you have a long wig, you can dip the wig into the pot for 10 to 15 seconds and then pull it out.Put the wig head back on its stand.
Step 9: Do not brush the wig.
If you see tangles, you can smooth them out with your fingers. The wig's fibers will be damaged by brushing a wet wig.
Step 10: Let the wig dry.
You can put the wig in front of the fan if you are in a hurry. If you use the "cool" setting, you can blow a hairdryer over the wig.
Step 11: The process should be repeated if necessary.
The first time this method is used, wavy wigs will be straightened. If your wig is very curly, you may need to do it again. It depends on how straight you want your wig to be.The wig should be dry before being straightened.
Step 12: Put the wig stand in a bathroom.
If there are any windows open, close them. You want to get as much steam as possible.
Step 13: Put hot water in the shower to make the room steamy.
The steam will take a long time if the room is warm or cold.
Step 14: Use a wire wig brush or a wide toothed comb to brush the wig.
Work your way up to the roots by brushing from the ends. The steam will cause the curls to loosen.
Step 15: The wig needs to be removed from the room.
The wig should be moved to a dry place.
Step 16: All of the hair should be put into a loose bun at the top.
The bun needs to be secured with a hair clip. The hair sewn along the bottom edge of the wig should be the one that is hanging loose. The hair is sewn to the wig cap in rows if you look closely. These are called wefts.Pay attention to what's happening. They will be your guide.
Step 17: The bottom layer can be sprayed with water.
It will keep the fibers from overheating.
Step 18: A 1 to 2 inch section of hair is needed.
One of the temples is the best place to get this section. You can work your way around the back of the wig.
Step 19: If you want to smooth the fibers down, use a wire wig brush or a wide toothed comb.
Make sure the section is tangle-free.
Step 20: The heat setting for the hairdryer is warm.
If you use a high heat setting, the fibers will melt.
Step 21: The combs and brushes should be moved at the same time.
Once the section of hair is tangle-free, place the comb/brush at the roots of the wig.The bristles should be under the fibers. The hairdryer should be held a few inches away from the fibers. The comb/brush and hairdryer should be moved at the same time. The fibers should be between the comb/brush and the hairdryer nozzle.
Step 22: Work upwards by section.
The next layer should fall loose after you have finished a row.Put the rest of the hair in a loose bun and secure it with a clip. The wefts/rows are your guide. One to two wefts/rows can be worked on at the same time.
Step 23: Only heat- resistant wigs can be used with this method.
wigs are made from heat resistant fibersThe wig straightening methods will not work on them. You can use a wig that is heat resistant.Do not use this method on other synthetic hair wigs. The heat will cause the fibers to melt. The wig will usually say on the package if it is heat- resistant. The website will tell you if the fibers are heat resistant if you bought your wig online. The wig is most likely made from regular synthetic fibers that are not heat resistant, if the website doesn't say anything.
Step 24: Pull the wig hair up into a loose bun.
Attach the wig hair with a clip. The wig's hair should be the only part that is loose. The first layer of hair will be straightened. The hair is sewn into the wig cap in rows if you look closely at your wig. These are called wefts. They will be your guide.
Step 25: Smooth out any tangles by taking a small section of hair.
There is a wide section of hair. One of the temples is the best place to take hair. You can work your way around the back of the wig.If you have tangles, smooth them out with a wide toothed comb.Don't run a comb straight down from the roots to the ends.
Step 26: The small section of hair needs to be sprayed.
The section was damped by filling a spray bottle with water.
Step 27: The iron should be turned on to the lowest setting possible.
Try to get the temperature between 160 and 180C.This is the safest wig for you.wigs can handle temperatures up to 410F.You should check the website where you bought the wig to find out the safest temperature for it.
Step 28: The section should be run through the iron like your own hair.
It is normal to see some steam. If you have to, go over the strand a few more times.
Step 29: The fibers should be allowed to cool down.
Once they have cooled, you can run your comb through them and let them hang from the wig.
Step 30: You should repeat the process for the rest of the row.
If you see ripples, smooth them out with the hair straightener.
Step 31: Let down the next layer of hair after you've finished that row.
Try to use the wig wefts as a guide. One to two wefts can be worked on at the same time.
