Sweat stains are caused by a combination of chemicals and minerals in your skin. Most acidic cleaners can remove the stains without damaging your clothing.Since most soaps and laundry detergents aren't acidic enough, you'll need to use something a little strongerBaking soda and hydrogen peroxide are excellent choices for white clothing. If you want a natural cleaning agent for white clothes, Lemon juice and salt is a good alternative.
Step 1: Put your clothing in a bowl or sink when you flip it inside out.
You can attack the stain directly by flipping your clothing inside out.Place your reversed item of clothing inside a large bowl or sink with the stain resting at the lowest point. This method won't work with spandex, which can be damaged by hot water. If you are removing stains from fabric, use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, mix baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and water.
A large clean spoon is needed to mix the ingredients of baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and water in a large bowl. There are no visible chunks of baking soda left when you mix the solution. It will take about 4 cup of each ingredient to make a shirt or pants.
Step 3: Put a pot of water on the stains.
When the water reaches a rolling boil, fill a large pot with water and heat it on the stove. While wearing an oven mitt, carry the pot to your sink or bowl and pour the boiling water over your sweat stain. The sweat stains will be easier to remove if the fabric is loosened.
Step 4: Put the baking soda solution on the stain and scrub it.
Scoop your solution on top of the stains with a spoon.Allow it to soak for at least 5 minutes. After the stain is removed, scrub it with a scrub brush or toothbrush in soft, circular motions. If you want, you can soak your clothing for longer.White fabric will not be damaged if it is allowed to soak for longer.
Step 5: Throw the clothes in with the laundry.
Sort your dirty laundry before you wash it by throwing your item of clothing in with it.If you have baking soda or hydrogen peroxide, run a regular wash cycle and use your standard laundry detergent.
Step 6: You can put your clothing in a sink or large bowl.
Make sure the bowl is big and deep enough to submerge your clothing for a long period of time. The stained area should be placed at the lowest point in the bowl or sink so that it can soak up the vinegar when you add it.Colored clothing is less likely to be damaged by white vinegar.
Step 7: Put a bowl with white vinegar and water over the stain.
In a large bowl, combine 1 part white vinegar with one part water and mix it with a spoon.Put your mixture over the stain to fully submerge it.If you want to cover the stain completely, you need about 3 cup of each ingredient.
Step 8: Before washing your clothing, let it soak for 30 minutes.
Allow your clothing to soak in the solution for at least 30 minutes before throwing it in with your laundry. If you notice that the stain is still there, you should wash it again.
Step 9: Water and lemon juice are in the glass.
If you squeeze a few lemons into a small glass, it will be half full. When your glass is full, top the lemon juice off with room temperature water. If you want the stain to be easier to scrub, you can add more salt to the mixture.
Step 10: Rub the stain with your lemon juice solution.
Put your lemon juice over your stain and rub it between the pads of your fingers.Rub it for a few minutes and you will see the stain disappear.
Step 11: Leave it to soak for an hour and then wash it.
After rubbing the majority of the stain away, put your clothing in the sink for an hour.It will give the lemon juice and water time to get rid of the sweat stain.Throw your clothes in with the rest of your laundry. You can rinse the lemon juice and salt under cold water if you are worried about the salt changing the color of your clothing. If the fabric has been dyed, lemon juice can have an effect.
