It's not easy to change a hairstyle like dreadlocks.If you want to cut off your locs, you have to comb them out.If you want to cut your dreads off, it is the easiest and fastest method.If you comb out your dreads, you can keep your hair the same length, but it may take a couple of days.Take your dreads out and how long you want your hair to be into account before you make a decision.
Step 1: You should separate your dreads.
It will make it easier to comb out your hair.If you want to work with one loc at a time, you need to remove any hair ties.If you want to see what you're doing, start with a loc on the side of your head and use a mirror.A friend may be able to comb them out.Don't pull apart the locs.It is possible to make it easier to comb your hair by using hair clips.
Step 2: Use water tourate the end of your loc.
It is important that the hair is wet before you comb it out.To saturate the spray bottle, fill it with water and spray the end of the loc.Continue spraying the water with your hand until it is completely wet.If you don't brush your dreads first, you will break your hair.Work is done in sections of 3–4 inches.
Step 3: It's a good idea to apply the conditioner.
It will be easier to comb out the locs if you use a conditioner.Make sure to saturate the area that you wet with water by rubbing the conditioner into the end of the dreadlock.A basic commercial conditioner can be used to comb out your hair.
Step 4: Use a small-toothed comb to brush the end of the dread.
Pull the brush outward from the end of the dread.Continue brushing the hair away.When you comb, you will see hair coming out of your comb.Don't be alarmed, this is normal.
Step 5: Put water and conditioner on the dread.
If you break the ends of the hair as you comb them out, you need to keep your hair fully hydrated and conditioned.Continue to brush up the lock, working towards the root of your hair a few centimeters at a time.
Step 6: You should repeat the process on the rest of your dreads.
Remove the rest of the dreads from your head.You will have successfully removed your dreads if you combed out all the locs.It can take days to comb out your dreads.
Step 7: Cut the dreads from the root.
Determine how long you want your hair to be, then use a pair of scissors to cut the dread from the root.Cut the dreads in half.If you want your hair to be even on all sides, you can use clippers.
Step 8: Remove any tangles from your hair.
If you have older dreads, your hair may still be bad.If this is the case, apply hot water to your hair and comb it out to separate it.Hot water is usually the best way to loosen up the locs.If you decide to use clippers, shaving your head with hot water will make it easier.
Step 9: It's time to Shave.
Using clippers will make your hair longer.If you want to maintain 1 inch of length, attach size 8 clipper guards.Go over the surface of your head with the clippers and shave it the same length.After washing and conditioning it, you can skip this step and get your hair cut by a barber.The edges can be trimmed for a faded look.
Step 10: Your hair is in good condition.
After shaving your head, take a shower and wash your hair.Regular maintenance will help your hair grow naturally.
