The Amish and Tractors - AmishReader.com Do Amish farmers use tractors?

Horse-drawn plows are still used on most Old Order Amish farms.Their desire to remain close to home and the land is one of the reasons for the horse-drawn plow.Most Old Order communities I have visited have sturdy draft horses pulling plows.The exception to the rule is the Kentucky church districts that call themselves Old Order that do farm with tractors.New Order and Old Order churches have more than one tractor.The photos were taken at the Farm Science Review held in London, Ohio.The Molly Caren Agricultural Center is an Ohio State University farm campus in rural Madison County.There would be a "plain presence" at the event.I don't know if these are Amish or not.An Old Order Mennonite community near Frankfort is likely to use tractor farming and would find this interesting.These aren't your ordinary little John Deere's, these are monster tractors and even Amish farmers would still be fascinated by them.

It is difficult to tell if they are Amish or not without being able to see their faces.She said that some of the men had beards.If I were to make an educated guess, I would say these are New Order Amish from the Belle Center area.Let us know if someone was there.

Farmers are Plain or English.I don't know if the men want to go to a tractor or implement show.The big tractor is often more fancy inside than a lot of cars.Farmers can only look and dream.

Farmers are learning to deal with new tech.Only machines will be doing fieldwork a decade or two later.seriously.
