The standard kart isn't up to much, and some karts have more negatives than positives.Some of the more reliable vehicles, ie those with more positives than negatives, include the Pipe Frame.

Whether you want your vehicle to complement your character's strengths or balance them out is a key consideration.One suggestion is to focus on two or three core strengths through your combo, as 'balancing' may undoing your character's positives in the process.Balance or prioritize a new ability if you try a heavy set and find the handling too poor.Depending on your preferred style of racing.

It's best to find something that works for your play style because there isn't a one-size-fits-all best Kart to build.

Heavy characters are helpful as the increased top speed combined with the ability to knock lighter racers out of your way is helpful.Time attack is a great way to get practice in with the kart you've built without having to contend with opponents throwing items at you.

A lower speed helps out a lot better for 200cc.If you get hit by an item, you can almost immediately hit that top speed again, and the lower speed helps on corners so you won't go blasting off to the side.The lowest speed classes allow the highest speed statistics to be used.

As soon as they did this, they created a meta and all anyone cared about was winning, which in Mario Kart is often times more down to luck than skill, so it becomes an oxymoron.

There isn't an ultimate setup.It's all about compromise and figuring out what works best for you.You'll lose out on one stat if you gain one.

When they're just listing the raw data for each thing, there's no need for "Best character" or "best part" headers.

It's true that high-speed builds are less viable on 200cc, but the tricky thing is that once your online rank is high enough you have to play both 150cc and 200CC, so you need to be able to handle both.

I have used female Villager with B Dasher, Wooden wheels and Plane Glider.It looks cool and has decent speed and handling.I'm not sure if I like it in 200cc.

The highest possible combined Speed + Acceleration score and the highest mini-turbo out of the combinations that can reach that score was given to me.

I'm still sane.You won't find "THE" kart on all occasions because every single track has different obstacles.Some racers will benefit from slicks so they can stay on the tarmac at full speed while others will need Monster tires.Time trial is the best way to do this.If you beat the Nintendo Staff ghosts, you can see what racer and kart parts they are using to get a feel for what might be the best option for each race.You can build a kart that you can call your own, and you get to know exactly how far that kart can go.Even if you are the best in the world, your greatest build won't stop Blue Shell from knocking you from 1st to 8th on that perfect online race you were just having.

As for Mii?I play with Miiself because I'm a egomaniac.I want to get more weight on Mii.

Adding another line to the table at the end that gives the total figure would have made it more interesting.The best are:

A Pipe Frame with 1 City Tripper, 1 BiddyBuggy, Mercedes Silver Arrow, Tanooki Kart, and Koopa Clown.

With either the Pipe Frame or the City Tripper, you can have either a roller or azure roller and with any glider.

Mii, Flame Rider, Standard Blue and Hylian Kite have worked great for me, no clue why, but it seemed a perfect combination, I like racing as myself, so I might experiment with something new now.

All of the parts listed have a negative speed.The parts that boost speed have worse stat totals.I'm not sure if I agree with the design decision.

It's easier to build a kart with this tool.

I don't personalize as much as I should.I have standard everything.The only thing I do is wait for the pipe frame to be unlocked.I'm usually in top 4.Is a kart immune to shells?

There is a mistake in the article.Each vehicle part has its own modifiers for racing in water/air/antigravity.The Mach 8 has 0.25 handling in antigravity.These are not shown in the game, but there is a list that includes them.

Depending on Mii Maker stats, Miis can be three different sizes.Medium is equivalent to Mario/Ludwig and large is similar to Bowser.

Two of my favorite things are Luigi and the Plane Glider.

Handling and acceleration for me!If you want to avoid the power up chaos in the middle of the pack, acceleration is the way to go.You can get rolling again if you get hit.While everyone else has to adjust their speed, handling makes it possible for you to turn tightly on the corners, making the track shorter and keeping you at top speed.I've heard it's called a loser combo, but I have played hundreds of hours of Mario kart, and my win percentage is different.

I like high handling and acceleration.Handling and acceleration allow you to make the turns on 150 and 200cc.I don't think weight and traction are very useful.You shouldn't be playing bumper cars and with proper drift brakes you should be able to stay on the road.Sometimes an item knocks you off the road, but it should take a very small amount of time.

I value speed less than handling due to the fact that it's better to make the turns than have slightly higher speed.Speed would give you an advantage if you touch a wall or go off the road.

I didn't know the characters had hidden base statistics.It sucks the fun out of it.Absolutely.I can form a more effective strategy now that I know this.Mii, Pipe Frame, Cyber Slicks, and Super Glider have been my winning online combo recently.

I don't think the vehicle customization stuff that was introduced in 7 has a place in an arcade racer like Mario Kart.That stuff should be left in Gran Turismo.I don't care what kind of tires we use, let's just race!

In the original there were 8 characters with 4 racing styles, all in nice simple karts, rather than the ugly over-designed wacky races vehicles they have now.That was it.It was simple and elegant.Things have to become bloated over time.

I can use almost any vehicle build in 150CC, except if I go online and suddenly start running into walls for reasons I cannot explain, but in 200CC.

Time trial is hard.I don't have a chance unless I match the kart specifications that the ghost is using.

Time trials are about precision.You need to be able to hit your marks on the track and do a great race line for 3 laps.When you win time trials are usually less than a second long.I've been working on the 200cc time trial ghosts.

I don't like time trials, I can do great for a lap and a half, but if I hit everything the same I end up behind.I can't manage their ability to hit short cuts and they never seem to drift with mini-turbos.I keep going back to give it a try, and after a dozen tries of being ahead most of the race, I end up giving up in frustration.I've won a few, and only when I match their exact gear, but I would love to be able to see exactly what they're doing behind me.If I allowed them to get ahead of me they would just keep going.

Nintendo employees have to be a pre-scripted racer that races almost inhumanly but just with enough error they can be beaten by true perfection!

Time trials can help you get better at the game.When you're ready to scream, you restart that track.You will come out the other end knowing exactly how to blaze through the track for the best time.There are people online who have mastered each and every track in the game.

When it comes to online fighting games, there is a bit of similarity between the two.In fighting games, people who can hit tiny frame windows and know when their attacks connect can adjust blocks all over.How does anyone do that?There are hours and days of practice.You have to know you're line and be able to hit it consistently.You can make adjustments when you're not racing alone.

When you play online, it becomes more intense.I haven't done much online on the switch but when I did, I was often lapping the rest of the pack.

I'm using Dry Bowser, Flame Rider, Slim wheels, and Bowser kite because it's still competitive and it looks awesome.

Adding up the scores for each category does not work for me.Does a kart's mini score carry as much weight as its top speed score?Not all scores have the same meaning.Maybe speed is more important than traction.Adding up the scores wouldn't show that.

The scores are not out of 0 or 1.To get a better sense of the true score, you would have to change the score from a base of.75 to one.

For online races?Since people now have double the item slots, handling and acceleration are more important than ever.

I like the Villager with the gold parts and the pipe frame.

Maybe that explains it.I don't like online fighting games.I gave up on that path after a while, because I was going down it with Splatoon.The obsessive "practice practice practice" mentality isn't fun.You don't get anything except a digital ataboy on the screen.If I wanted to do that, I could just work more.I was getting sucked into it, but I realized it has more in common with gambling addiction than fun.I don't like online gaming.Even if I am able to get addicted.

I want to get some of the time trials because it's my single player fun and I'll still screw around online if I get grouped with the chumps.

You can let it take over your life, but I think it's more the drive to get better.It's fun to push myself as hard as I can.It keeps things interesting to me.I enjoy pushing myself in non-competitive games.I'm always looking at the logs to see how I can improve.Some of my best memories are doing the most extreme content, failing over and over until the boss goes down.

I like to think I'm not like that, but I think it's the other way around, I would just go full tilt, not sleeping, or eating, until everything is perfect.I just go with "I don't enjoy that" because it's simpler than "if I try to do that I'll starve to death"

Not sure if this has been removed in the re-release, but it was discovered that there are hidden perks in Mario Kart 8.The speed was divided into ground, air, and water.The Steel Driver got a significant speed boost in water, and the slim tires that increase your speed a good bit actually decrease it.

The only thing you need to know is that the standard ATV and monster tires are not good.The sport bikes with inside drift give you a bad camera perspective while you're drifting.Unless there's a big skill gap, winning comes down to a lot of luck.

The inkling boy, the sponge tires, and the splatoon paint quad are some of the things I have been successful with.
