DRYLOK® E1 Latex 1-Part Epoxy Concrete Floor Paint is fortified to deliver greater protection.It'll be easy to keep clean if you use it.

DRYLOK® E1 Latex 1-Part Epoxy Concrete Floor Paint does not have strong odors or complicated mixing instructions.It cleans up nicely with soap and water.

Concrete steps, walkways, garage floors, laundry rooms, and basements are some of the attractive interior and exterior horizontal masonry surfaces.

Concrete must cure for 30 days before it can be painted.Remove dirt, wax, dust, mildew, and loose or scaling material with a scraper, wire brush, or stiff bristle brush.Grease, wax, and oil should be washed with a detergent in warm water.Allow the surface to dry after rinsing thoroughly with clean water.Are you using a pressure washer?To avoid damaging the concrete, do not use a pressure setting above 1750 psi.Concrete acts like a sponge.There may be residual water in the concrete.

Attach a piece of 3 mil plastic or aluminum foil to the floor, taping it tightly along all four edges.After 24 hours, remove it.If the floor is damp, allow additional drying and repeat the test.A fan or a Dehumidifier may be able to help.

White, powdery, crystal-like deposits on the surface are naturally-occurring, water-soluble salt compounds pushed out by water intrusion.The salt remains when the water is gone.The effect of efflorescence is that it prevents DRYLOK® E1 Latex 1-Part Epoxy Concrete Floor Paint from bonding to the surface.According to the manufacturer's directions, rinse and allow the surface to dry.

DRYLOK® will be used to prepare the concrete to accept the coating.It's important that the concrete looks and feels like sandpaper.If the concrete is smooth, repeat the etching procedure.The concrete can be tested by sprinkling a few drops of water on the surface.You are ready to apply the coating if the water is readily absorbed.Additional cleaning and etching is needed if it sits on the surface.Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours by rinsing thoroughly with clean water.

All holes and cracks can be patched with a cement-based patching compound.It's important to smooth the patch evenly.Allow the patch to dry completely.

Remove peeling paint and clean in the surface preparation section.It's a good idea to remove Mildew using a suitable mildew remover.The surface should be allowed to dry completely.Glossy painted surfaces need to be dulled or sanded.Do not apply to floors that have been painted before.Don't etch painted surfaces.

When air and surface temperatures are 50F or higher, schedule your project and wait for a dry period.Don't thin the product.Use a nylon brush or nap roller to apply a coat.Do not apply paint to a hot surface in the sun.

Good air flow for normal drying.Before applying the second coat, allow the first coat to dry for 4 hours.It may take longer to dry due to high humidity and low temperatures.To achieve color uniformity, the second coat should be applied in a cross direction to the first coat.Don't apply more than 2 coats.When using more than one container of the same color of DRYLOK® E1 Latex 1-Part Epoxy Concrete Floor Paint, mix them together to ensure color consistency.

It is possible to add up to 2 ounces of DRYLOK® Non-Skid Texture Additive to improve traction.
