The Incredibles' Frozone's Wife Honey Character is a deleted movie scene.
As Pixar prepares for the release of its latest animated film, The Incredibles 2, due out this summer, director Brad Bird shed a little light on why fans have yet to see one of the movie's breakout characters: Honey.
One of the funniest moments in the original 2004 film is when Honey is Frozone's wife.
In the scene, Samuel L. Jackson's character is looking for his super suit so he can save the city.Honey lets it be known that she is the greatest good that he will ever get by asking where his missing outfit is for.
The comical scene is a fan favorite, but many wondered why movie goers never get to see Honey on screen, especially when her inclusion would add even more diversity to the film.Bird thinks the character is funnier as a voice.
She is funnier as a voice. He said they went through a lot of trouble to design a character, but it wasn't as Frozone's wife. She is a hero but there is not a lot of screen time for her.
The film critic questioned Bird's rationale for not including Honey.
Black women are underrepresented in animation as it is; does it have to be compounded by a conscious decision to include the voice of a Black woman but not her face?Jones wonders if seeing Honey make the moments between her and Frozone funnier. We get to see Mr. and Elastigirl.Wouldn't it be great to have similar dynamics between Frozone and his wife?
The fact that I never got to see Frozone's wife is pissing me off.The video is titled "B2uWbpe BUB."
