The Tahajjud is a special Islamic prayer which is not compulsory for all Muslims. After Isha, the nightly prayer is followed by the morning prayer. In the last third of the night, it is the best time to perform the Tahajjud. Many Muslims try to make it part of their daily routine in order to earn redemption and forgiveness from Allah. To learn how to pray in the way the Prophet Muhammad laid out, see Step 1 below.
Step 1: You should wake up after midnight.
You may want to set an alarm clock or have a family member wake you up after praying the Isha prayer. The last third of the night is when it is best to pray the Tahajjud. The two-thirds of the way between Isha and Fajr is a good place to be.During the last third of the night, Allah asks, "Who is asking me, so I can give to him?"Who is calling on me, so I can answer him?Who is trying to get me to forgive him?Don't feel guilty if you accidentally sleep through the night and wake up to perform the Tahajjud.According to ahadeeth, Allah will grant you sleep as an act of mercy if you record your genuine intention to perform the Tahajjud. If your intention had been fulfilled, you will be rewarded. If you make a conscious decision to abandon your intention to pray without good reason, it may not be overlooked.t
Step 2: Wake up and play Wudu.
Wake up at the right time.Muslims cleanse themselves before they pray or handle the Holy Quran by performing a ritual called Wudu.Wudu means using clean water to wash your face, arms, hands, and feet. The Ghusl full-body ritual cleansing must be performed if you have discharged mani earlier in the night.
Step 3: If you want to conduct your prayer, go somewhere clean, quiet, and dignified.
Because Allah's names are pure, Muslims are encouraged to speak of him in clean, holy places as a form of reverence.Wearing your normal prayer clothes, sit down on a prayer mat and face Mecca as you would for your prayers. You don't need a mosque or a fancy room in your house to pray the Tahajjud. All you need is a clean spot in your room.
Step 4: All worldly worries are removed from your heart.
Reflecting on the glory of your Lord is what you should do at the time for prayer.Don't worry about fleeting worldly problems that are meaningless in comparison to His infinite wisdom and mercy.Don't worry about worldly problems, hopes, and fears.Ignore negative thoughts or feelings. As you begin to achieve a heightened state of spiritual awareness, close your eyes and focus on your heart.
Step 5: You should make your intention to pray known.
As you begin your prayer, make a mental declaration to yourself that you will perform the Tahajjud.Decide how you are going to complete the Tahajjud, including how many Rakats and surahs you will recite.Do you want to thank Allah or ask for His forgiveness? As long as your intentions are clear to you, you don't have to make this declaration out loud. The ritual that Muslims use for their daily prayer is called the Tahajjud. You will want to decide how many Rakats you intend to perform at this time, because they are usually performed in pairs. For more information, see below.
Step 6: The person should perform two rakats.
The first thing you need to do is perform two Rakats of Salah. The Holy Quran is the starting point for Salah. Then, the person prays by kneeling with his hands on his knees, then prostrating on the ground, raising his arms, and finally standing and saying "Allahu Akbar."If you're not sure how to perform Salah properly, learn this fundamental Muslim skill before attempting the Tahajjud. The Prophet Muhammad used to recite the surah "Al-Kafirun" after the first Rakat.recite the surah "Al-Ikhlas" after reciting the Al-Fatihah.
Step 7: Rakats can be repeated as you please.
The minimum needed for a proper Tahajjud is two rakats. You can repeat as many as you want. The Prophet Muhammad prayed up to thirteen times. The number eight is seen as a good number by many Muslims. Most people will say two, four, six, or eight, but more is not discouraged. If you are able to recite long surahs such as Al-Baqarah, An-Nis', or al-'imran from time to time, they are highly commended. If you notice dawn approaching while you say your prayer, you can perform a pre-dawn prayer called Witr.
Step 8: After the Rakats, add your own prayers.
If your dua is sincere, respectful, and done in complete devotion to Allah, you can add it.You can offer these in your own words and language. You can ask for help, offer thanks and praise to Allah, or pray for strength and guidance. You can ask for blessings for a friend who is going through difficult times, or you can thank Allah for the blessing he gave you the previous day.Prayers should be offered with humility, fear, hope and patience. Many ahadeeth say that Allah is open to our repentance at night and this is an ideal time to ask for forgiveness.Allah may still decide that a penalty is due if you acknowledge each of your wrongdoings.Don't repeat your sins and ask Allah for forgiveness. To become a better Muslim, use the fear of Allah to drive you.The Qur'an tells us more than 70 times that Allah is the Most Forgiving. If Allah wills, your prayer will be answered in kind.
Step 9: If you become too tired to complete the task, go back to bed.
When you attempt the prayer, it's not likely that you'll be tired.Don't attempt to complete the prayer if you find yourself forgetting what you're saying or doze off in the middle of it.According to several ahadeeth, Allah notes your willingness to complete the Tahajjud. It is possible to go back to sleep without being embarrassed or ashamed, but you should prepare yourself by going to bed earlier.
Step 10: You can read about Prophet Muhammad's devotion to the Quran.
If you want to understand the significance of the prayer in Islamic scripture, you should consult any references to it.The Quran states that the Tahajjud is discussed in many ahadeeth.Throughout the history of the religion, it is discussed in the work of Islamic scholars. You can start by reading Book 21 (Prayer at Night). The habits of the Prophet (pbuh) are described in 70 ahadeeth in this book, which gives an indication of its significance in the life of a good Muslim. There are multiple points in the Quran where commentary on the Tahajjud can be found.
Step 11: Say the Tahajjud with your family.
Both Muhammad and his wife recommended that husbands and wives say the Tahajjud together, which is why Muslim families are encouraged to pray it with each other. As a family, you can come closer to each other in devotion to Allah and show solidarity in your worship. If you're interested in trying this, ask your spouse and/or children to join you before the first night so that you can celebrate Allah's infinite greatness and mercy together.Children over the age of ten should be encouraged to pray when they are ready, but if it is too difficult for them to wake in the night then they should not be admonished.Encourage your children to complete voluntary acts of worship and warn them of the consequences if they don't.Small children, the sick, and the elderly are exceptions to the rule that families that pray together make.
Step 12: Refer to the practices of Prophet Muhammad.
Muslims are encouraged to live in the likeness of Muhammad, Allah's Messenger and the Seal of the Prophets. If you want to learn how Muhammad performed the Tahajjud, you should study the ways he did it.Muslims can become closer to Allah if they try to emulate the Prophet's practices. If you're looking for information on Muhammad's habits and practices, Book 21 is a good place to start.
Step 13: It's a part of your routine.
There is no punishment for missing the optional prayer as it isn't something that any Muslim should feel compelled to do.When they are able, many Muslims choose to practice the Tahajjud on a regular basis. All forms of prayer bring you closer to Allah. With Allah's gifts of forgiveness and redemption, the Tahajjud is a great way to seek correction for minor failures, sins and imperfect actions. If you start praying, remember that Allah appreciates regular worship, so don't give up.Setting a recurring alarm to wake you up at night is one way to make the prayer a part of your life.If you can't commit to praying every single night, then try to establish a habit of saying just two or four times a week, with the aim of building up over time.
