The washing machine won't start because of the start button.
When I get rid of what I want, my washer will light up but not when I press the start button.I will hold start but it won't start. It doesn't show codes either.
I also had this issue. It's not the control board, the latch, or anything else I saw here.It was a simple fix for me.The back of the washer has head screws that hold it down.Lift the machine off the ground. There are wire inserts in the front and inside. The start button knows the latch is engaged and will work if the signal is sent to the control board. It was not clipped all the way and it shook loose because of the spin cycles.Push it in until it clicks. It was easy in my case. The wall outlet 1st has disconect from power.A 5-10 minute fix is what this is.There is no out of pocket cost.It was only a few minutes of your time if it's not your issue.Good luck.
The lock on the door may be malfunctioning. The start button may not be working if everything else is working. When I get back from fixing my own washer, there will be more about this.
The issue has been off and on for 3 years.Sometimes the panel works well and sometimes it doesn't.I have to use a different setting for my wash.I tried plugging it in but it didn't work.Sometimes it takes a few days for all of the buttons to work.Any real diagnosis or solution.
Pressing the buttons on the control panel will show you if the user control is faulty. The control and display board might need to be replaced if some of the buttons don't work. The power to the user control and display board should be checked if the display is not working. The user control and display board needs to be replaced if it isn't working.
Before replacing the timer, check all of the more commonly faulty parts. You can use a multimeter to test the timer for continuity if you consult your washer's wiring diagram.
If there are too many washer circuits, the line will blow. The washer won't start if the line blows. If you want to know if the line is at fault, use a multimeter. You should replace the fuse if it doesn't have continuity. The problem that caused the fuse to blow should be investigated. The wires, motor, and drain pump are shorted out.The new fuse will blow if you don't resolve the underlying issue.
