The Watcher' house in New Jersey sold for $400K less than it did five years ago.
A New Jersey family was harassed by "The Watcher" after they bought a six-bedroom home in the town of Westfield."The Watcher" claimed the house was his family's for decades and that he was put in charge of watching over it, waiting for its "second coming."
The couple and their children were seen coming and going in the letters. One letter said "I am pleased to know your names now and the name of the young blood you have brought to me."
The family hired private investigators, but no one was able to identify who was sending the letters.
After five years of living in their own horror movie scenario, the Broaddus' have sold the house for $400,000 less than they paid for it.
The family bought the house for over a million dollars, thinking it was their dream home. They never moved in because they were afraid for their family's safety after receiving a series of letters from "The Watcher".
The Broadduses sued the previous owners of the house, claiming they knew about "The Watcher" but didn't tell anyone.
Some neighbors objected to the Broadduses tearing down the seemingly haunted house and building two homes on the lot because of the turmoil over the letters.
