There are 4 ways to fix an issue with your Nest thermostat or your Yale Lock.

You can use the app on your phone to maintain a wireless connection with certain Nest products.

Other Nest products work the same way.Depending on which Nest products you have, a connect does two things.

The backup battery of Connect can keep it running for up to 12 hours.After that, your lock will be Offline in the app.

Make sure your connect is plugged in and that the outlet it's plugged into is receiving power by walking over to it.

The Guard isn't listed as offline on the home screen.It will be different if it is offline.You can read the following article instead.

The light will turn yellow if you hold the button for more than 8 seconds.Press and release the button at the same time.A yellow light indicates that Connect is attempting to reset itself to factory defaults, which will remove it from the app.The factory reset will be canceled if the button is released while the light is yellow.If you accidentally complete the factory reset, you'll need to add your connect back to the app in order to continue using it.

It needs to be close enough to Guard and Detect to maintain the wireless connection.You can place Detects up to 50 feet away from Guard, but the range can vary depending on your home's construction, wireless interference and other factors.

To maintain a steady connection, you should be able to find a location that is close to Guard and to your Detects.If you have a Yale Lock, make sure that moving Connect doesn't break the connection.

If you have a large home with a lot of wireless interference, it might not be a good place for Connect to maintain its connection.You can purchase a second Connect and use it to extend the range of your first Connect.

Check to make sure your Guard has the latest software since Connect talks to them.Hold the 2 button on your Guard until you hear, "release to check for updates."
