If your marker runs out of ink, don't buy a new marker!The markers can be refilled quickly.You can refill one without using special tools by dripping ink onto the soft marker tip.You can use a booster to refill markers after removing the nib.You will be back to creating beautiful and bright illustrations in no time.
Step 1: Purchase ink refill in the desired colors.
If you have original or wide markers, Copic's Various Ink can be used to refill them.Make sure to refill each marker with the same color ink.You can order ink refill online or go to an arts and crafts store.
Step 2: Keep your hands, clothes, and work surface safe.
The marker may leak out of the other end if you overfill it.If you want to prevent the ink from staining your bed, desk, or floor, cover it with plastic or newspaper.Roll up your sleeves and wear gloves to keep the ink out of your hands.
Step 3: There are caps on the marker and ink container.
You should remove both caps if you want to refill the marker from the wider side.Pull the cap off the marker.The refill container of ink has a cap on it.
Step 4: Slowly put the ink on the marker.
You can add ink 1 drop at a time with the small tip of the Various Ink.At a 45 degree angle, hold the marker below the container of ink.Slowly pour the ink onto the tip of the marker by squeezing the bottle.The ink will be absorbed by the nib.
Step 5: The other end of the marker has ink on it.
Continue to draw ink onto the nib.The marker is full when there is a drop of ink at the other end.The caps on the marker and the container of ink should be replaced.You can draw again!
Step 6: There is a refill booster and refill ink.
You can find these items in your local craft store.The Various Ink can be used to refill markers.The refill booster has a needle that makes it easy to refill your markers.
Step 7: Put on gloves and cover your workspace.
Take precautions to protect yourself and your workspace from ink stains.Put gloves over your work area.Roll up your sleeves to keep them out of the way.
Step 8: The booster should be screwed onto the ink.
Attach metal tweezers to the wider side of the marker.Pull it out of the marker.Take the booster out of the package and screw it onto the Various Ink refill container after removing the cap.
Step 9: The end of the marker has a needle inside it.
The opening was created when you removed the nib.You don't have to stick it all the way in the marker, just make sure the end of the needle is inside the opening.Hold the booster with the ink on top of the marker.
Step 10: To add ink to the marker, add 1.5 to 2cc of ink.
The Various Ink bottle has marking on the side.Add 1.5 to 2cc of ink to the marker by squeezing the refill ink container.
Step 11: Remove the booster and replace it with a new one.
Take the booster out of the marker and put it away.Push the marker back into the open end with the help of the tweezers.
Step 12: The booster has ink in it.
Remove the refill ink from the booster and replace it with a new one.The marker should be capted as well.
Step 13: The booster needle needs to be wiped clean.
You can put rubbing alcohol or Various Ink cleaning solution down the opening of the booster needle.To remove any remaining ink, swirl a cotton swab around the inside of the booster.
Step 14: You can identify a white tip.
The marker has run out of ink and there is a whitish tip.The marker needs to be refilled if it makes a noise while drawing or coloring.
Step 15: It's a good idea to look for streaky ink or inconsistent coloring.
You may be running out of ink if your marker strokes are streaky or inconsistent.If the quality of the color has declined, compare the strokes made by a newer or recently refilled marker.
Step 16: The markers need to be renewed after 3 years.
If you have had your markers for 3 years or more, it is time to refill them.The shelf life of Copic markers is three years, which can cause inconsistent coloring.
