There are standards for the heights of a purple martin bird house.
The MP-15-4 is a pole with a total height of 15 ft and is designed to easily assemble with four sections and keylocks. As needed, you can raise and lower your house.Hardware and mounting instructions are included. The pole should be planted deep in the ground or concrete. This can hold heavy houses.
I sanded the poles to make sure they wouldn't fall together.I drilled the poles rather than using miracle clips.I am in the process of rigging up a way to slide the house up and down the pole as a more expensive method of installation. It's important to keep the sparrows out occasionally and check on the birds weekly. To hold in place, the inside plugs need to be screwed in tight.I am trying to put the pole together while sparrows pop them out.I give a high mark to the house, but a low mark on the pole.
I almost didn't order the pole because of the reviews that said it was cheap. It is a heavy sturdy pole and the parts went together well.I was unable to tighten the bolts on the plastic mounting flange that held up each level of the bird house, we were able to rig up something to keep it from sliding, the pole was not a problem. No birds yet, just put the house out.
