There are things in a book.

It's possible to make a hollow book for hiding large items inside of a book, but what about hiding slim items such as money, secret notes, or printed information inside the book?Is it reliable or safe? It's possible if you are careful about how you do it.It's important to remember which book hid your money.

Step 1: A good book is something you should choose.

The book must be thick to make it harder to see what's in it.It should not be noticed.Don't choose a book that looks out of place, it's up to you.It is adequate size to hide your goodies. It's more work to hollow out a book.A normal book works well if you want to hide flat things.

Step 2: There is a good placement inside the book.

You should put about 3 quarters of the way into the book.It will fall out if people see it in the middle. The beginning is obvious.

Step 3: There should be no signs around the shelf.

If you disturbed any dust or fluff in doing this, you will have to clean the whole shelf, otherwise it will look obvious.

Step 4: Don't forget the book.

Work out a way to remind yourself of which books you hid.It is not uncommon to forget where you hid the money for a rainy day, only to have a pleasant surprise many years later.

Step 5: There is a book that you won't want to read again.

Old encyclopedias, reference manuals and college textbooks can be used here. You will need a pen, knife and glue for this.If you can't find a large book at home, go to a thrift store or used book store. You can ask for one on a site like Freecycle.Measure the book's ability to cope with the object before cutting it.

Step 6: The book can be opened.

Depending on how much room you want in the book, flip over the first 20-40 pages.

Step 7: On the next page, draw a rectangular shape from the ones flipped over.

It will look too obvious if you leave an inch ( 2.5 cm) allowance as borders around the hole space.

Step 8: The rectangular hole should be cut out with a knife.

If your book is thick, repeat the last two steps.

Step 9: With the hole in the book, you can use an old painting brush to coat the inside edges with glue.

The walls for the hideaway compartment will be formed by the pages of the book.Glue to the backside, either the back cover or one of the remaining pages.Your things won't fall out easily if you put this in a box.

Step 10: The book should be weighed down with a few heavy books.

The pages will be pressed together.Let it dry before setting it aside.

Step 11: You can fill your goodies.

You can hide your special stuff in the secret compartment.Put the book in the bookshelf.
