What arewelded sounds?There are chunks of words that aren't easily sounded out as separate letters.The cat can be easily sounded out.I may be able to make each sound sound pure.
The vowels in welded chunks have been changed a bit.A can is an example of this.Most of the time, we don't say /k//a/-/n/.It sounds like it would be similar to /k//e/-/n/.The n colors the vowels so they don't sound the same.

Learners color in a chunk with a crayon or marker.Older, struggling readers might want to use a highlighter.Learners read the words aloud once they are colored in.
