Your dryer may be used for drying clean clothing, but an unseen pen, crayon or some dirty clothes dried between washings can leave your dryer drum coated in various materials that can come off on clean clothes. You can keep your dryer in good shape by cleaning it regularly.
Step 1: Plug the dryer.
The dryer should be unplugged before you start.Behind the machine is where the plug is located. To make sure you have unplugged it correctly, test it.You will want to shut off the gas if you have a gas dryer.
Step 2: It is a good idea to clean your lint trap and your dryer at the same time every year.
lint gets everywhereYou can see a cloud of it when you open your dryer or fiddle with the trap. It's important that you clean your machine at least once a year to make sure that lint doesn't get into the cracks and crevices.A blocked up dryer can cause fires. After every use, the lint trap should be cleaned out.If you don't, new lint will not have a place to go, creating a mess and increasing the amount of time needed to dry clothes.
Step 3: The lint trap needs cleaning.
Depending on how much lint your items create and how well your trap catches it, use a vacuum cleaner to clean out behind the lint trap every few weeks to months. The lint trap is on the other side. The exhaust tubes are often difficult to reach, so you might want to vacuum them out.
Step 4: The sensor must be wiped down.
Most modern machines have a sensor that tells them when the clothes are dry.It won't work correctly if it's covered in lint, which can cause your dryer to turn off before everything is dry.Rub alcohol on the bar to clean it and keep the dryer running. These can be found at the back of the machine or near the lint trap. They are usually mounted on plastic and look like two strips of metal. If you don't clean these often, you might need to use a Magic Eraser.
Step 5: You can open the panel surrounding the drum.
If you're brave and clean the lint that builds up around the drum, you can open the dryer. You can check the user manual for your model or look it up online. The top or front panel can come off.The spot to start is usually around the lint filter. You can remove the panel with the screws undone if you pull forward or use a screwdriver at the gap.If the drum is exposed, you can remove lint and lost items by hand or with a vacuum.
Step 6: It needs to be put back together.
Once you're done, take the panels out and replace the screws.

Step 9: You can spray a rag with a spray gun.
Get an old rag and spray it.You should not use the rag to spray the drum.
Step 10: The area should be wiped down.
The spots in crayon are covered with a rag.If you have to, try not to cover any more areas with theWD-40.This will allow you to remove all of the crayon.Keep from spreading the crayon if you switch which part of the rag you wipe with frequently.

You'll want to mix up a bucket of soapy water and a sponge or cloth to clean the drum after you've removed all of the crayon. There are spots with theWD-40.
Step 12: Run a cycle with old towels
To remove crayon from old towels, use a cycle in the dryer to run a load of them.

Run the dryer for 10 minutes. It will be easier to remove the lipstick. You can use a hairdryer to heat up the affected area.It may be more efficient to do this.
Step 14: You should wipe off as much as you can.
The lipstick should be wiped with a soft, dry cloth. To keep from spreading the lipstick, switch which part of the cloth you wipe with frequently. You can use a makeup wipe to remove lipstick.
Step 15: Rub alcohol on the remaining product to remove it.
If you want to soak a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol, unplug the dryer. This can be used to wipe off the remaining lipstick. You can rinse it with a wet rag or paper towels.

Baking soda and water can be used to make a paste. The inside of the drum should be sprayed with bleach water or Clorox. When using a scrubbing sponge, put the paste on the area you want to scrub. You can rinse with a wet rag. This will help remove the dye.To make bleach water, mix 1-2 cups of bleach with a gallon of water. The bleach and baking soda can be very harsh on your skin, so you'll want to wear kitchen gloves.
Step 25: towels should be soaked in bleach water.
The rest of the dye needs to be removed.Take some old towels or rags and mix them with some bleach water. They shouldn't need to be in the water for more than 5 minutes.

To remove excess water, wring the towels out.
Step 27: The towels need to be run through the dryer.
You can run the towels through the dryer for 30 minutes.
Step 28: As necessary, repeat.
If not all of the dye, this should have removed most of it.You can repeat the towel process a few times to see if more can be removed.
Step 29: The drum needs to be rinsed.
Once you've removed all the product, mix a bucket with soapy water. To clean the inside of the drum, use water and a cloth.

Step 32: The gum has ice on it.
The ice pack can be used to make the gum stronger. The gum needs to be held directly on the ice pack.To hit different parts of the gum, you may need to move the pack slightly.
Step 33: A scraper is needed to remove the bulk of the gum.
You can use a credit card to get rid of the gum.
Step 34: Use a razor to remove the remaining chunks.
If there are any more pieces that are stubborn, you can use a straight razor to remove them. When you do this, be careful. You should keep your fingers out of the way and not move the razor towards your body.Use minimal force and make small movements. The gum can be softened by blowing it with an air dryer and then removing it from the drum.
