There is a question about how to repair a plaster Statue.
Paper towels have a rougher finish than tissue.Small holes and cracks can be repaired with tissue. It tears easily so filling gaping holes is not good.
If you fill a large hole, let the first paper towel layer dry completely or it will tear when you add more weight on top.
Something gets broken in every person's life. There are some things that you can do to repair the damage if you break a statue or object.Even if you break the plaster piece into a million pieces, it can be repaired with a few simple items and a lot of time. The key is to get all of the broken pieces.
Glue the pieces back together. The best glue to use on plaster or ceramics is plain-old, white school glue.It rebuilds the bond between the broken pieces by entering the pores on the plaster and ceramics.Don't leave a lot of gaps and cracks if you glue the parts on carefully. If you leave cracks, they have to be smoothed out.It may require filling gaps, sanding and painting. After you glue the parts together, you may need to tape them in place. If the sculpture looks ok, remove the tape. You are done if it looks good.Go to Step 2 if you see cracks, holes or chips.
Use tissue or paper towels with glue to fill in gaps.Make sure the areas that have been filled are smooth.Use your fingers to smooth the paper.Put toilet tissue with glue in small chips. The pieces should be allowed to dry.You are ready for Step 3 if the area dries smooth. If an area is rough, high or bumpy, you need to use sandpaper to smooth it out.You need to use fine sandpaper and work in small strokes. If the area is small, you may want to use a nail file to remove the rough spots.Glue a flat piece of paper towel across the inside of the hole and let it dry.The hole should be filled with alternating layers of glue and paper towel. To paint the glue onto the paper towel, use small pieces of paper and a paintbrush. The paper-mache layer is used to rebuild the open hole.Use your fingers to smooth the layer.Sand with a tool.
