There is a review of the dish network 4k joey client for whole home.

If you combine the Hopper 3 DVR with the 4K Joey set-top box, you can add Dish Network's 4k content to any room in the house.

The Hopper and Joey boxes were introduced a few years ago.Ultra high-definition (UHD, or 4K) support is included in the Hopper's third generation. You can use the standard Joeys to send programming to other rooms, but if you want to use a 4K television you should consider the new Joey.Since it's the same $7 monthly fee as a standard Joey, there is no reason not to upgrade to this set-top box.One of the Hopper 3's most interesting features is the Sports Bar multi-view mode.

The 4K Joey is remarkably flat, measuring just 0.7 by 7.5 by 6.2 inches. There are buttons in a row on the tiny front panel. The main Hopper 3 can be connected to the back panel with a coaxial cable.

The remote is the same color as the Hopper 3.The wand has a red band around the edge and plastic buttons that are barely above the surface. You don't need to point the remote at the box for it to work because it uses a radio connection. The left edge of the remote has buttons for aux, input, Sat, and TV.The square navigation pad dominates the top half like it did in the previous version. There are various menu buttons that sit above the pad and below the number pad.

Like the previous Joeys, the 4K Joey is dependent on the connected Hopper for all of its functions. When connected to a Hopper 3, it can access the box's 16 tuners, load any DVR content recorded on its hard drive, and access most of its apps.As long as there's a Hopper 3 in your home, it can do most of what the Hopper is capable of.If you want a completely wireless connection, the Wireless Joey is the only option.

The Hopper 3 has a useful Sports Bar mode. You can watch four HD channels at the same time on a 4K television, which is great for sports fans and news people. The Hopper 3's picture-in-picture modes can't be used by the 4K Joey.Multi-view features are only available on the Hopper in multi-room installations.

The 4K Joey has a new interface to go with the new remote. You can now use the Joey to access apps. You can browse for weather, sports, and social media when you watch television with the Apps button. When you look up information in an app, it preserves the currently playing channel or DVR content in a section of the screen.

The 4K Joey functions the same as before it even with the new remote and interface.I was able to watch any live television the Hopper 3 had recorded.

Ultra high definition (4K) television is supported by the 4K Joey.It will support 4K satellite transmissions as soon as they begin, and can output a picture to a connected TV.You can only watch Dish Network's small 4K on-demand library. The Joey doesn't support 4K content yet, but that feature will be enabled in the near future.

The Hopper 3 DVR is an excellent set-top box for your satellite service, and the 4K Joey is a natural upgrade from previous Joeys. The 4K Joey will ensure that you'll be able to use any and all of Dish's content throughout your house, despite the fact that the Wireless Joey is a more flexible box for rooms you might have difficulty running cables to.If you have more than one 4K television and want the most future-proof Dish service on all of them, you should pick up a 4k Joey alongside the Hopper 3.

If you combine the Hopper 3 DVR with the 4K Joey set-top box, you can add Dish Network's 4k content to any room in the house.
