When your device is connected to the internet you can update applications on the operating system.If the app is not set to automatically update, you have to manually update it.Both ways of updating are easy to do.
Step 1: You can connect to the internet via wi-fi.
It is possible to update apps with a 3G or 4G cellular connection.To keep your cellular data usage low, connect to wi-fi when your apps use a lot of data.
Step 2: Go to the Play Store on your device.
Search your device's screens until you find the Play Store icon.You can find your installed apps from your dock if you don't have the Play Store on your screens.There is a grid of white squares in the dock.You will be able to navigate to all of the apps on your device if you tap that grid.You can find the Play Store by scrolling through the installed apps.
Step 3: Go to the Play Store.
To open the Play Store icon, tap it with your finger.Before moving on to the next step, allow it to fully load.
Step 4: The Menu icon looks like three horizontal bars on top of each other.
Go to the menu that appears.You will be shown all of the apps that you have installed on your device once you navigate into the My Apps page.There will be an update labeled with the word "Update."
Step 5: Either update or update all.
All installed apps will be shown on the My Apps page.If you want to update all of the apps, you have to choose between Update next to the specific apps or Update All.
Step 6: Accept the terms of the app.
A new window will show you what kind of information the app will access and use as part of its function.Press Accept to update the app.The app will not be updated if you don't.
Step 7: The app can be updated.
You can open other apps while you wait, but don't kill the Play Store app.Your update will stop because of this.You can see the progress of your update by scrolling down from the top of the screen.While the app updates, you will see a downward arrow pointing toward a short horizontal line in the notification bar at the top of your screen.
Step 8: You can connect to the internet via wi-fi.

Step 9: The top of your device screen has your finger on it.
You should be able to see a small icon with an arrow inside it.This means that your apps are waiting to be updated.The notifications bar on the top of your screen will tell you which apps are waiting for an update.
Step 10: There are apps that need to be updated.
You will be directed to the Play Store where you can finish updating your apps.
Step 11: You can choose Update or Update All.
You can see all the apps with updates at the top of the page.You have to decide if you want to update all of them, or only certain apps, by tapping Update next to those specific apps.
Step 12: The terms of the app should be approved.
Acceptance of their terms is required by the majority of apps.A new window will show you the terms.To update the app, press Accept.The app will not be updated if you don't.
Step 13: The app should be updated.
Don't kill the Play Store app.Your update will stop because of this.You can see the progress of your update by moving your finger from the notification bar to the top of the screen.While the app updates, you will see a downward arrow pointing toward a short horizontal line in the notification bar at the top of your screen.
Step 14: You can find the Play Store icon on your phone.
Go to your device's screens and look for the Play Store icon.You can find your installed apps from your dock if you don't have the Play Store on your screens.The icon looks like a grid of white squares.You will be able to navigate to all of the apps on your device if you tap that grid.You can find the Play Store by searching through the pages of installed apps.
Step 15: You can open the store.
To open the Play Store icon, tap it with your finger.Before moving on to the next step, give it time to fully load.
Step 16: The Menu icon looks like three horizontal bars stacked on top of each other.
The menu will populate with the My Apps option.
Step 17: You can set the app to auto-update by selecting it.
The Menu icon on the settings page is three vertical dots.By tapping the box next to that option, you will be able to select the auto-update option.If you want your apps to auto-update, repeat this process.
Step 18: You can find the Play Store icon on your phone.
Go through your device's screens and look for the Play Store icon.You can find your installed apps from your dock if you don't have the Play Store on your screens.The icon looks like a grid of white squares.You will be able to navigate to all of the apps on your device if you tap that grid.You can find the Play Store by searching through the pages of installed apps.
Step 19: You can open the store.
To open the Play Store icon, tap it with your finger.Before moving on to the next step, give it time to fully load.
Step 20: The Menu icon looks like three horizontal bars stacked on top of each other.
The menu will populate after you tap the settings option.
Step 21: Go to the general settings.
Pick the option that says "Auto-update apps" with your finger when you are in the General settings screen.
Step 22: Choose between auto-update and only wi-fi.
If you choose this option, your device will only update apps when you are connected to a wi-fi network, which will save you data and give you more security.
