Throw a party to hide it from your parents.

If you are planning a secret get-together while your parents are away, it can be difficult to host a party in your home. You should ask your parents for permission to throw a party in their absence, but there are other ways to hide the event from them. You can take a number of measures to make sure you don't get caught, such as isolating the party space, keeping the noise down, and recruiting friends to help clean up.

Step 1: Find out when your parents will leave and how long they will be gone.

Ask your parents when they will be gone, how long, and where they'll be.You don't have to ask these questions directly. If your parents give you the information, you'll be in the loop of their schedule.Write the information down so you don't forget. If your parents are only going to be gone for an evening, like to dinner, and will be back in a few hours, you may not want to throw a party. If your parents decided to come home early, you wouldn't have time to clean up.This is a great time to host a party for parents who are going away for the weekend or overnight.

Step 2: You can create a list of people you want to invite.

Pick the number of people you would like to have in your home for the party.Consider the size of your party space, like the living room, and only invite as many people as you can comfortably fit in that space. It will help keep the noise down and minimize accidents. If you want a small get-together, only 15-20 people should be invited. If you want a large party for a lot of people, increase the list to 30 and ask everyone to bring friends.

Step 3: Party invitations can be sent via text message, social media or verbal.

Use a combination of methods or choose a single method.Remember, you don't want other parents to find out you're having a party at your house, so choose a method you think will be the most discreet.Sending out a text message to your friends is an easy way to let a small group of people know about your party. You can create a private Facebook event and invite large groups of people that way.Don't make party flyers or paper invitations as these can end up in the hands of a parent and ruin your plans.

Step 4: The invitations should be very specific to avoid problems.

You should include the date of the party, the time you want your guests to arrive, and your home address. If you need guests to be out of your house by a certain time, you should include an end time for the party. To avoid an unruly party with too many guests, state clearly on the invitations if your guests can bring people with them and how many.If you want your guests to bring snacks or drinks, you can note it.

Step 5: The number of vehicles at your house can be reduced if you ask your guests to drive a car.

You will not be able to hide from your parents if you have your guests park in the driveway or on the front lawn.Ask people to drive to your party.Asking your guests to park away from your house is a good idea.It will reduce the amount of attention drawn to your house by keeping your block clear of cars.

Step 6: The party space needs to be created to minimize the mess.

The partying area should be limited to the first floor of your home.Give your guests access to a bathroom if you keep the party in your living room and kitchen. You will be able to speed up your cleaning process after the party with this.If you can, post "Off Limits" signs on the doors of rooms you don't want guests to enter such as your parent's bedroom or the computer room. This will allow you to have fun at the party.

Step 7: Valuables may be broken or stolen during the event, so remove them.

Keys, money, jewelry, and wallet are some of the items that may be included. In a locked cupboard or a room that will be off-limits to the party, store them.Your parents will notice if things are out of place, so try to remember where all of the items go.When you're trying to put the room back together, take a picture of each room. The stress of remembering where to put each item will be alleviated.

Step 8: It's a good idea to protect the surfaces with tablecloths.

If you will be serving food and drinks at your party, make sure to line the coffee tables, end tables and dining room tables with disposable tablecloths.Consider lining furniture with cotton drop cloths.Drop cloth will absorb most of the liquid if someone spills a drink.Drop cloths and disposable tablecloths can be purchased online or at a local party store.Make sure you have toilet paper in your bathroom.

Step 9: The cooler should be filled with ice and drinks sealed.

If you are over the legal drinking age, give your guests drinks like water, soda, juice, or alcohol.A communal punch bowl makes a mess of your partying space and may encourage your guests to spike it with alcohol when no one is looking. If you don't have a cooler, fill a large plastic bowl with ice and chill drinks in it.

Step 10: Line the counter with easy snacks.

Simple snacks will not make a mess of your house as your guests eat them. You can put out potato chips, corn chips or pretzels. If your guests get hungry, this will give them something to eat, but it will also be easy for you to clean up after they leave. If you have time, make some personalized snacks.Instead of buying a traditional party mix, make your own.You can make a sweet party mix with pretzels, brown sugar, and chocolate candies by using your favorite cereals and barbecue sauce.

Step 11: Guests won't use glassware if disposable dishware is put out.

glassware or any of your parent's cookware should not be used at the party. You can serve your drinks and snacks in plastic cups, dishes, and bowls.Guests can easily dispose of plastic dishware if you place a large garbage can in the kitchen.Provide your guests with plenty of paper napkins and paper towels in case someone spills a drink or needs to wipe their hands.

Step 12: You can set up a stereo system by creating a playlist of music.

You can include popular radio hits, bouncy pop songs or classic dance songs. You should have a stereo system in the room for the party. The stereo system should not be on the side of the dancing area.It will not get broken or knocked over.Don't worry if you do not have fancy speakers. You can purchase small and inexpensive speakers at a local department store or online, and then hook them up to your laptop or cell phone.

Step 13: As they arrive, greet people to keep an eye on the guests.

To greet your guests and keep a record of how many have shown up, try to answer the door yourself. If the party gets out of hand, you can turn people away from the door.If you are throwing a large party, make sure to speak with everyone who arrives and not just your friends.Don't be afraid to turn people away if more people show up to your party than you initially invited. You are responsible for the people you let into your home, so only allow people that you are comfortable with to join the party.

Step 14: You can reduce the amount of attention drawn to your house by closing the curtains.

You can see the number of people in your house through an open window even if the lights are not on.All of the curtains and blinds in your home need to be closed. If you have flashing lights set up for your party, this is important as strobing or colored lights will quickly draw outside attention.

Step 15: It's a good idea to keep the music volume at a respectable level.

If you keep the music volume down, your neighbors won't file a noise complaint. If you can't hear the music in your house, then it's too loud.Your guests will have to talk over your music if it's loud.If you are hosting a party on a weekday, this is important. On a Friday or Saturday night, neighbors will tend to be more tolerant of noise levels.Since most people work on the weekdays, they might be less enjoyable on a Sunday through Thursday night.

Step 16: Group activities should be initiated to engage everyone at smaller parties.

Smaller gatherings are fun, but may require more attention to keep everyone engaged.Simple team games are an easy way to keep your friends talking. Most games, like "Never Have I Ever" and "True American", can be arranged last-minute with household items and provide hours of laughs and entertainment. If you or a friend have a fun card game, like "Apples to Apples" or "Cards Against Humanity", have that nearby to play with everyone.

Step 17: Guests should smoke outside in order to keep your house smelling fresh.

If you see anyone lighting up inside of your home, ask them to smoke outside. After the party is over, the smell of cigarettes and other substances will linger.Make sure to dispose of cigarette butt outside of your home after the party. If your parents see them, they may be suspicious.

Step 18: If you need to end the party at a certain time, you should ask your guests to leave.

If your guests aren't leaving when the time comes, you may need to inform them of the end time on your invitations. If you have a lot of guests, you might want to get some of your friends to encourage them to leave.Don't be afraid to tell people to leave. It's easier if you say something like, "My parents will be home soon, so I need to clear everyone asap."

Step 19: Don't let your friends drive under the influence.

If your guests are drinking alcohol, make sure they have a ride home.Do not allow your friends to walk home alone in the dark drunk, and do not let them get behind the wheel. You can arrange a ride home for an intoxicated friend with someone at the party who is sober or through a local shuttle service.Allow your guests to sleep over if you can't find a ride for them.If you wake them up early, they will be gone by the time your parents get home.

Step 20: A couple of friends should stay after the party to help clean up.

It is a good idea to have an extra set of eyes to make sure your house is free of garbage.Don't talk to your friends until after the house is put back together, and make sure to stay focused while cleaning. It might make the cleaning process slower if you have more than 3-4 friends with you.

Step 21: Drop off the litter at the dumpster.

The disposable dishware and tablecloths should be thrown away. It's a good idea to check underneath tables, couches, and chairs.Try to put opaque garbage bags over clear ones.Drop the garbage off at a public dumpster or have a friend do it for you.The party's evidence will be removed from your property.Don't put the bags of garbage in the trash can as it will look suspicious.

Step 22: The floors, carpets, and surfaces need to be cleaned thoroughly.

To remove debris from your house, run a vacuum cleaner over the floor. If necessary, mop the areas where liquids were spilled.Any surfaces that were used during the party should be wiped down with an all-purpose liquid cleaner.Tables, countertops, and even the bathroom are included. If you have to, open a couple of windows and let the air out of your house. The smells are from your party and the cleaning supplies.Don't have your home look too clean. If your house has items lying around or dust on the coffee table, leave it that way.A dirty house can raise as much suspicion as an overly clean one.If you misplace the cleaning supplies, your parents may ask why they are missing.

Step 23: It's a good idea to replace any items you stored in a different spot.

When your parents left, make sure to reset the party space to how it was when you were a child. You have to arrange the furniture in a way that your parents would have done it.Refer to any photos you took of the space before the party if you don't know where the item is.
