Did you know there are many ways to tie a Taekwondo belt?If you want to figure out how to tie your belt evenly, or if you just started taking taekwon do, these two methods can get you there.
Step 1: To find the center, fold the belt in half.
Step 2: You should put the center of the belt at the front.
The two sides should be the same.
Step 3: Wrap the two ends around your body.
The left side should be crossed over the right in the back.Behind your back is where you will need to switch hands.
Step 4: To make sure the belt is the same length, hold both sides of it in front of you.
Step 5: You should cross the right over the left.
Step 6: Pull the right side under the belt.
You are able to breathe comfortably if this tie is snug.
Step 7: Go left over the right.
Step 8: Pull the left through.
Pull both sides of the knot.
Step 9: Place the belt on the back of your body.
The portion behind your back should show the right side of the total length, but the left side should be the last 1/3rd.
Step 10: Go over the left side.
Step 11: Wrap the right side of the belt around your body.
The belt should be above the hip bones. The shorter left end needs to be held in place.
Step 12: The sides should be equal length at a 45 degree angle if the belt is adjusted.
If the belt has moved to your belly button or above, you need to tighten it so it fits.
Step 13: The belt should be crossed over the left at the center of the belly.
The left side should be under the first loop and the current cross over.
Step 14: Put the right side of the belt under the existing loop.
Pull both ends of the belt out when drawing the right side out.Make sure you tighten it enough so that it stays on, but not so much that you can't breathe comfortably. This is similar to the first tie.
Step 15: The lengths of both sides are still the same.
If it is not, adjust.
Step 16: Cross the left over the right.
Step 17: To secure the knot, pull the left side through.
