Tim Whall will retire as CEO of ADT Inc on November 30.
DeVries will replace Whall who will remain on the company's board of directors and serve as an adviser.
Tim Whall will retire in November and Jim DeVries will be promoted to CEO.
Following the transition, DeVries will be appointed to the company's board of directors.As an adviser to the company, Whall will remain on the board.
The Board and I believe that now is the right time to initiate a transition of leadership responsibilities as the Company has strengthened its core operations and is successfully executing on its strategy.
Jim DeVries has led many of the Company's recent operational and strategic improvements as Chief Operating Officer and President, making him well-positioned to succeed me as CEO.I am confident that under the leadership of Jim and the current management team, we will continue to perform and deliver on our long-term growth plans.
Since September 2017, DeVries has been the president of the company.Prior to joining the company, he held senior leadership roles at leading companies in the insurance, financial services and telecommunications industries.
He was vice president for corporate services and human resources at Ameritech before joining the Principal Financial Group.

After waiting all day for service after a break-in attempt, I left a rather unpleasant message for the company.Mr. Jimmy Simpson came to our home last night and did a great job.Someone knows what they are doing.Thank you, Mr. Jimmy Simpson!You should get a raise for going after hours as well.I was reassured that my home was secure with new video cameras.
I have been trying to get ADT to pick up my property from my home.I feel that they are trying to bully me into a contract.A man came to my house to teach me about the security system.I was told by my security company that I had 8 months to complete my contract.I told the tech about it.I never signed the contract he left at my home.I was immediately told that I would be responsible for 75% of the total cost when I called them.Keep in mind.I have not signed a contract nor have the security equipment been installed.I won't be Bullied.Someone should look into this situation.Disappointing.
This is in reference to a recent purchase that I made with you company out of Augusta, Georgia for cameras and security system for my home.I spent over $5,000.00 on the systems.I was told that I wouldn't be able to purchase the cameras on a monthly basis.I was able to purchase the cameras after a lot of calls and meetings.After writing a check for both places, my bank statement shows that your corporation has taken an additional $98.00 out of my checking account without my knowledge or approval.The sale representative has been working hard to get my refund.I have spoken with the Augusta, Georgia office of your corporation and done three different ways to get them to give me my money back.After explaining to him that I already paid and no one had the right to take any additional money from my account without my consent, I was told that a refund would be returned to me in 7 to 14 days.This has been a week and still no refunds.I have not been able to contact the agent since I was told that a check was sent out.I paid for a rotating camera for my yard and when they put it in, they didn't have a brackets for it and it would take 7 to 14 days to get the brack.It has been over a week and still no brackets.The agent told me that it wouldn't be in until after the 21 or 24 of November.The service of taking money from someone's checking account without their consent is unacceptable.I would like to have money at night.
Why wouldn't anyone trust the security of their home and family to people who were dishonest and unreliable?I answered an add from ADT in September to have my home secured for $27.95) per month with $850 worth of free equipment and $100 reimbursed for the installation.I was not made aware that the Installer set me up with a service for less than $50 a month.I called him the next day to either lower the price or remove the equipment.I was told every month that the price would go down, but only to $36.98/month.I contacted the Florida Attorney Generals Office.I will never trust them.Remove your equipment.
Dear Mr. DeVries, I recently ended my service with Brinks.I tried to cancel the service, but I had to sell myself to remain a customer.I canceled the service after a long wait on the phone.The CSR told me that I had to pay a cancellation fee.
I never signed a contract with the company and appealed the fee three times.I was told to write to Aurora.I wrote a letter to appeal the charge, but have not received a reply.
I signed up with ADT on July 27th.There were many calls to Defenders and ADT due to the malfunction of your equipment.I have written many letters to the address in Aurora.The 6 month money back quarantee was the subject of several calls.I was told by the company that they did not have a 6 month return policy.I was finally able to talk to someone about this.I told her I wrote the letters.The technician had to come to my house more than 3 times in order to qualify.During the 5 months I had the service, a technician came out more than 3 times.I was told it would have to be a technician for the company.I had problems within the first 90 days.A Defenders representative was going through a list of all the times I had called, and the technician came out to service my equipment.I spoke with Scott on February 6.He told me that he would call me back with the equipment and dates that the technician came to my house.I haven't received a call yet.My monthly service charge continues to be called into question.They claim they didn't know anything about the letter I sent.I received the same address I had sent it to.I told her I didn't use the equipment and she told me to send it back.The equipment was professionally removed.I am still waiting for a call back from a supervisor.I want you to resolve this for me because no one else knows the policies of Defenders.Thank you.There is a person named Heidi.Sacramento, Ca is located in the state of California.
I had an unpleasant experience with the ADT and wouldn't recommend anyone to use their services.Even though these notices are sent to the ADT, technical support or ADT doesn't even care to call and find out why there is a system malfunction for extended period of time, the reasons are.Their cost is ridiculous and they didn't fully disclose information.I received a letter from ADT stating that they had reduced the monthly monitoring rate to $23.50, plus applicable tax.For a year, I believed that my fee was 24.50 +, but when I called to disconnected them, they said it was only for two months.I read a letter to him, but the representative argued that I was wrong.I believed I was paying a reasonable price because the company did not reveal the time frame.When I said that they lied to me all the time, a representative said, "Well, you can call the CEO of the company."I have been giving away money to ADT for over a year because my system doesn't work.I would rather give these money to sick kids and elderly people than waste it.Mr. DeVries, if you care, you will make some changes before you retire.
I was a customer of ADT for 8 years and they started to raise my bill, it was not cost effective to keep adt with the new ring which goes to your phone, iPad and computer, you can call the police yourself.I called adt to cancel because I felt they were not taking me seriously even after I said I wanted to quit.I received another bill a month later.He said that I had 30 days to pay.Even with a door bell camera, the cost is not cost effective.You can save money by buying your own equipment.
Neither of my mother's friends have a computer or email so she couldn't get her $100 Refer A Friend bonus.Senior citizens should not be punished for not having an email address because they are entitled to rewards.
I bought a ring doorbell on August 1st and was told it was a hard wire doorbell without batteries.I noticed on my phone that it wasn't connected to the internet.When the doorbell's internal battery ran out, Ring told me that it needed to be charged.
The salesman who sold me the doorbell deceived me.I wanted what was told to me.A doorbell.Please tell me what to do.
I have been a customer of the company since 2008.I had a contract with you.The security service was only given to me because of my dad's medical problems.I had no problems until my contract ended.They told me that if I signed up this time, it would be a three year contract and they would have to take it out of our checking account every month.Keeping my dad safe was more important than that.My dad passed away in August.I ended the monitoring because I didn't need it anymore.The young lady helped me.She said that we were no longer under that three year contract and that I could stop the service whenever I wanted.When I received my statements, the price began to change.I didn't want to be a customer with the company because I was getting harrasing calls about the new fees.They still wanted to make a deal to cut this amount in half, despite the fact that I had a balance of $224.74.I will pay you off because my services were stopped.She didn't see that I had canceled my service.The last time they talked to me, she said, I hung up the phone.I told her that I did because I was tired of them calling me.I left a message for someone to call me after I called your customer service.I hope you do.My next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau if no one reaches out to me.Thank you, N.
I had to speak with 3 different people to cancel my service and there was an agreement that all equipment would be removed from my rental property.The equipment must be removed by the end of next week as I am getting nowhere with your people and I requested contact information to a manager.This is not a good way to do business.You have lost my business in my next property and I will make sure to spread the word to everyone I know and on social media to alert people of this scam.
On the week of November 4th, I called the number I received in the mail for a home security system.There was a promotion for $850.00 worth of equipment.I told the sales rep that I was looking to upgrade my system which was monitored by Brinks Security.I was told by the sales rep that a tech could come out and look at the system I have and recommend equipment and pricing.An appointment was scheduled for November 11th.On Monday November 11th, a tech showed up and walked through the house to identify what equipment I had.The tech told me that he needed to remove my keypad to check my system and to see what equipment he could use from the existing system.I asked him if he was going to put the system back in place if I didn't purchase a system.He told me he would put it back where he found it.I showed him the location of my main security box.I asked if he was going to put my system back in working order if I didn't purchase a system from ADT.He told me that he would put everything back where he found it.The tech recommended several packages after showing me the different features of the system.I told the tech I wasn't going to move forward with the upgrade because the recommend system was not affordable.They went back and forth over the phone after the tech called his manager.I wanted to upgrade because we weren't able to get an affordable package that included cameras.The tech took his equipment to his car.He removed the keypad from the wall.He told me while walking towards the door that he wasn't going to change anything.I was told that it would be a liability if he touched or reinstalled my system.I was taken advantage of because the tech promised to put my system back in running order if I didn't purchase a system with ADT.I am a single parent living with my children without the peace of mind that my family is protected because I don't have a working security system.This type of treatment should not happen to anyone.Had I known that the tech would not be able to return my system to working order, I wouldn't have allowed him to remove my current system.It was a misrepresentation of the truth to try and sell me a system even if I couldn't afford it.My current company can't come out until December to fix my system.I was expecting the technicians to return my system to its original state.I expected the techs to be honest with customers when giving an estimate and not take apart a homeowners equipment without authorization and then not put it back to working order.The customer should be told that the old equipment can't be put back.I believe that technicians should get signed authorization before removing equipment.
I have been with the company for 5 years.The security company is awful.On September 15th, I terminated my service.They charged me 70 dollars because I was told it would need 30 days to be terminated.There are horrible customer service reps there that are lacking in training and common sense, and 2020 is still having the same problem as 2020.I did not leave a message on their headquarters business despite leaving several emails with several cooperate personnel.Maybe the horrible customer service is due to the lack of concern from the higher ups.It's the worst choice I've ever made.The service is outstanding now that I have ring.Even though I have asked them to stop, they are still harassing me.If it continues, I will need a lawyer.
I think you have a management problem.I have the same horrible customer service in Mexico, but in Spanish, which I don't understand.I didn't think I was alone with the problems.I understand.Nobody is at home.Anyone thinking of investing in this stock?
I am a disabled person.I have lived in a safe town for 20 years.The stalker descended upon me in 2019.I have had to leave my home twice and stay in a hotel for my kids.The system is hackable because they are dependent on me for their safety.They wouldn't want to upgrade with that information.I am not a techie.They have given me a 30 day cancellation notice because they are afraid of bad publicity.I still rely on the key fob.Feed me to the wolves because your system works at times.A new company will knock adt out of the water."You reap what you sow" is what DeVries needs to remember.Absolutely disgusted!!
I am a resident of Missouri and would appreciate a moment with you.I have been disrespected and belittled for my adt service.A woman is a single mother of two children.A career employee with a degree in Criminal Justice deserves respect and is treated with dignity.I've heard conflicting stories from adt representatives about one member of the presidential team.I was told that I had to stop my service after I made a complaint.I was told to abuse the representative on the phone, but when I told them I had never done that, they changed the situation.They said someone from the branch office told them they no longer wanted to serve me.I am 5 feet 3 and I have never been arrested for being a threat to anyone or wanting to be.Any criminal would never threaten or hurt anyone.With the state of our country, I want to at least feel safe at home, but not to the degree of a few rude employees.I am shocked at how easy it is for someone to defame my character and affect my household protection.I would appreciate it if you could look into this objectively.
The others are worthless.The day after I had it installed, my home was broken into.They broke in every time I went out.Their technology is 25 years old.Someone can stand outside my door and turn it off.I took a picture of my keypad with a warning on it.How can that happen when the system is so good?When they offer their $899 system for free, I had to pay $1,000.The young man who installed it took advantage of me.They're charging me $322 for the equipment I can't get off the wall, and no longer have access to.They won't credit me for that charge.You can see how great the system is by reading this 6-year-old article.You are wasting money.A good guard dog is a good purchase.
