A langot is a type of loincloth worn by men in India.Similar to a jockstrap, it's made of a fabric triangle with ties at the top and a long strip of fabric hanging from the bottom. It's simple to tie the straps correctly once you get it into place. Some people wear langot while lifting weights, doing yoga, or in sports like wrestling, where they might need protection in the genital area.
Step 1: The langot has a seamless side.
You should be able to feel the seams on one side and the other side can't.When you get it in place, the seamless side should face towards your body to make it more comfortable.
Step 2: The edge of the triangle should be placed at the top of your backside.
Place the long, flat edge of the triangle, which should have two straps extending from it, at the top of your backside.Grab one strap in each hand and bring each one around to the front so that you're pulling the fabric taut against your bottom. The long strip of fabric should be between your legs.
Step 3: Pull the long piece of fabric through your legs.
You can grab the fabric by reaching between your legs.Make sure to keep it straight and smooth by pulling it between your legs.Throw the end over your shoulder if you bring it up to your waist. If you pull the fabric tight, make sure your genitals are tucked against your body.Throwing the long piece over your shoulder will keep it out of the way.
Step 4: Cross the strings on your front.
Pull them around so they are tight and then loop one string over the other like you are tying a knot. This should be at your waist.
Step 5: The strings should be crossed in the back.
Wrap the strings around your back.Bring them to the front on the other side. While you're doing this, keep the strings tight.
Step 6: Attach the strings to the bow.
The langot will be a little more comfortable once it's tied if the strings areknotted towards one side of your hips.As if you were tying a pair of shoelaces, pull the strings tight and tie a bow.The langot will be secured by this.A square knot can be tied.
Step 7: Put the long piece of fabric in the back by dragging it through your legs.
Take the long piece of fabric off your shoulder and let it hang over the knot you just tied.Pull it through your legs if you reach through the back.Pull it taut and tuck the end in the back of the triangle.
Step 8: In sports where you need to protect your genitalia, use a langot.
The langot works like a jock strap, so it can be used in contact sports like football, soccer, or cricket, where your genitalia could potentially be hurt. It's used in traditional forms of wrestling.Put a cup under the langot to protect this area.Make sure your cup fits.It should fit against your body and cover your genitalia.Once you have the langot in place, slip the cup underneath the fabric and position it over your genitalia, which should be pointed toward the back. The front of the cup should be rounded.
Step 9: While doing strength training try a langot.
Langots allow for freedom of movement and have been worn during strength training. If you want to prevent a hernia, you should choose a different undergarment.hernias can be caused by the tightness of the langot.
Step 10: A langot is required for yoga to allow for freedom of movement.
Many yogis wore only a langot during yoga.It allows for high flexibility while you're practicing yoga.
