Can you study for the MCAT without taking classes?

NO! The MCAT is hard enough even when taking the recommended coursework. I took the MCAT before taking biochemistry (still took general chemistry and organic chemistry) and will say that it took a lot of extra work to learn just this one course while preparing for the MCAT.
