How do cops run plates so fast?
A lot of departments are using automated systems that have a number of vehicle-mounted cameras that feed into a computer that links to a variety of databases. However, otherwise the officers either manually type the number into the vehicle computer or simply have their dispatcher “run” the plate.
Do license plates use zeros or O?
On most vanity plates, they are almost always assumed to be the letter “O” unless the placement of other numbers suggest otherwise; but searches will turn up hits whether the search field is populated with “O” or zero, in any case.
